Is this something I should have checked out?

The drive belt is loose till centrifugal clutch expands and tighten it up. Due to friction. Poor water on it a Nd it will slip. Water is lubricant.

It needs a new belt. It’s slipping on the pulley and it’s much worse if it gets wet.

Default Thanks for replies.

Thanks for all the input and replies. I had made an appointment to get it checked out especially since it is in year 4 of 5 year warranty. If the belt needs to be replaced should that be covered under drive train warranty?

I doubt it, it consumable item, like tires, spark plugs, air filters. They will inspect it And measure it, if it worn beyond the limit it will have to be replaced.
