Wheel Lock Clamp Boot Tire Claw SUV RV Trailer Auto Car Truck Anti Theft Towing | eBay
Has anybody tried these as theft deterrent? Thinking about getting one to protect my 13K new golf cart. My question is if you seen anybody trying to knock it off would you suspect something and call the sheriff? Or am I wasting my money cause nobody cares? |

I just ordered one, figure it may get the thief to pass on by for and easier pigeon? Providing I remember to us it?

I would (and have on several occasions) approached them to see if they needed any help. Even if it "looked suspicious" I would still ask, maybe from a few steps away depending on appearances. I would not hesitate to call 911 if I felt something was not right. And I think most people do the same. At minimum take some pictures, cause you never know. With all that said, I feel there are very few cart accessible locations in TV that present any real threat to cart theft. I know it happens, but with 45,000 carts in use (and that is conservative) even one theft a day is almost negligible. Our two carts cost us a lot more than we paid to build our first new home so we made sure we have adequate/proper cart insurance coverage. I think most cart owners have done the same. Don

My wife initially resisted the idea of using this; said no one gets their cart stolen. I said, "Ok, take the locks off the doors, we have nothing in the house that singularly costs as much as the cart, so why lock the home?" Sometimes a woman, even one that has been in Law Enforcement

Don't look too time consuming or hard to install. Open jaws, fit around tire and lock with the key. Maybe take 20 seconds? Now for the 50 dollar question? Front tire or rear. Front tire IMO.

I just can't imagine putting that clamp on when it gets over 85. Hot day, hot pavement and bending down to ground to lock/unlock that thing not my cup of tea.

Sorry if some people can't bend over or care about there investment, that's your choice. Now the $5 dollar question, why did you respond?
When I had the $1500 old CC I wasn't too concerned, but now I got large investment in new cart and plan to keep it for 10 to 15 years. Changes are real Low it would be taken, but for me when I am at the Square or even at the sports pool extended amount of time, or even at eating out, It's cheap insurance for me. Now maybe in 10 years when I can't bend over and my cart no longer worth near as much as I paid for it 10 to 15 seconds may be too much. But, for now Maybe the theft will pass my cart up and steal yours. ![]() I just may put GPS tracking device on it also. Plus the steering wheel bar. Heck I might even take tire off and take it with me. ![]() Last edited by Topspinmo; 05-03-2015 at 01:46 PM. |

Think it's more of a female thing. We just don't like bending over since our center of gravity is different, especially if it is hot. So, I have my doubts that most women are going to do it, even if their hubbies buy it for them.
