I am looking for a service manual for my 2017 Yamaha EFI. I also have a 2015 Yamaha.
I've always been a DIY guy and still enjoy doing the annual tune ups, oil changes etc. I know that these machines require additional periodic service such as greasing, clutch replacement, etc. I already have the owner's manual so that's not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for the repair/service manual the an actual mechanic would use. I've Googled a search with not much luck, at least for a 2017 late model cart. Not really interested in spending 200.00 for a manual. Any ideas?? Thank you!! |

I spent well over an hour, did not find any downloadable versions that were free or lowcost (what the op was apparently after). The best price I found was $127 for a print version. I did find the owners manual available for free in downloadable version, but not the service manual.

The "owners" manual can be downloaded.
Have yet to find a mechanics service manual to download. Do you have a link? |

For your drive 2 cart the only option right now is to buy a service manual from Yamaha, as you said it’s around $200, I bought a Service manual for the 2013-2015 MY online at emanualonline.com, just search Yamaha YDRA, it cost me $27 for a PDF download, I keep it on my iPad so I can bring it out into the garage.
I should mention there is no information whatsoever in the manual about clutch greasing, the owner manual has a schedule where greasing the clutch is included but in the service manual there is nothing. I took the cover of the primary clutch, pumped new grease into it until I saw fresh grease come out, cleaned off the excess and replaced the cover, been running smoothly since. My secondary clutch is a newer model without a grease fitting so I didn’t grease it. I don’t see a reason to get the service manual unless you’re looking at tearing down the transaxle or need to diagnose some major electrical bug. Oil change information is the same as the owner manual. If you are looking for something specific I could always send you a copy of the pertinent pages from the manual. |

Thanks alot for you reply!!
So sorry for the late reply back. Being retired is a grueling schedule! I have 2 carts, both Yamaha 15' and 17' I'm just trying to find out the specific grease points on these carts, and... On the 2015, it appears that the transaxle plate needs to come off to replace the fluids because there's no drain plug. My 17' has a drain plug. And I assume there's a gasket? Just wish I could find some of this data online for a reasonable price? Thanks again! Barry |

As for the grease points there is really only one official point which is the primary clutch, there is a grease fitting on it and it should only take 3-4 pumps to get fresh grease into it. I usually take the cover off (3 Phillips screws) so I can clean up the old grease that gets pushed out of the clutch. You can find tune up kits on amazon just search “tune up kit Yamaha drive/drive2” you can also get tuneup kits right from Yamaha if you prefer OEM parts. Here is the Yamaha site: Search |
