I saw this on South Lake Animal League's (aka The Animal League) Facebook page. (I got one of my dogs from them.) It is pinned at the top the page. How sad that someone would do this.

This sweet, 5 pound Chihuahua was thrown from a moving vehicle and hit a mailbox.

Meet Freedom.

The impact on his little body was severe. Freedom sustained a deep, and painful wound to his rear leg, and his tiny leg was broken.

The Animal Leagues transport team and the caring people from the sending county shelter quickly mobilized.

Freedom is being looked after by one of their special foster families and is under the veterinary care of the amazing staff at AVS Gainesville.

Freedom has a long road ahead, and The Animal League will be posting updates as soon as they get them.

As of now, Freedom's veterinary bills exceed $3500, and will likely go up. Please consider making a donation to the Sunshine Fund to help us care for this sweet boy.
