Despite the many successful adoptions achieved by the Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County and the Sumter County Animal Services in their mutual adoption agreement, there still is a greater number of adult cats and kittens in need of permanent loving homes than anticipated. Due to this tremendous influx of healthy and adoptable felines, the HS/SPCA, in conjunction with Animal Services, will be hosting a special One Day Only: ALL Feline Adoption Day on Saturday, July 9th from 10am - 2pm at the Humane Society/SPCA shelter. Any and all cats and kittens will be available for only $10 which includes spay/neuter, a Leukemia Combo test, vaccinations (including Rabies), a County tag, a microchip, MobiPet free registration, 30 Days of free pet insurance, de-worming and a flea treatment.
HS/SPCA President Bill Gottschalk pointed out that "every year in the Spring, animal shelters nationwide anticipate an abundance of homeless puppies and kittens when unprepared pet owners do not spay or neuter their pets. But this year has really been a challenge with homeless cats and kittens here. We value the lives of these beautiful healthy cats too much to not allow them another chance at finding permanent loving homes. So we have decided to make ALL the adult cats and kittens available for only $10 that day." To speed up the adoption process, it is strongly suggested that interested applicants submit a completed adoption form ahead of time, in person or online. Approved applicants will then be able to take their chosen cats home on the 9th. Gottschalk added that "you can't find a better deal when seeking out a loyal loving companion which will entertain you for years to come. In fact, for that adoption cost, we would love to see some of the kittens get adopted with another for company and grow up together. If you were ever considering adding a cat to your home, please, NOW is the time to come by a meet your purr-fect pal!" The Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County, Inc. (HS/SPCA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer-based organization helping all animals in need throughout Sumter County, Florida. Donations directly help to cover the cost of saving, treating, and caring for neglected, abused and abandoned animals.
