So heartbreaking. My rescue dog, Mishka, was one of 22 of his breed found tied up in a swamp, in deep standing water, starved and nearly hairless. If they weren't so tall they would have drowned. They were used as breeder dogs but barely fed enough to keep them alive. Below (I hope) is the before and after pictures of him. He was practically untouchable when we got him. Today he is a Hospice Therapy dog with a Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog International Certification. That's what love and patience can do. Hope the dog in the video finds a good home also.

It *IS* very heartbreaking, especially when you have to put down "one of your own."

At one time at the peak, we had a Golden Retriever, a Schauzer, and two kitty kats. All four got along famously, with never a cat-dog fight. The two dogs would have an occasional spat, and so would the two cats, but nothing serious. We now are left with the two cats, and we love them IMMENSELY. We miss our dogs BEYOND BELIEF !

There's so many good people in the world. I can't say enough good things about those kind souls that rescue these animals.

Woke up this morning and found my two "boys" cuddled together in the doggie bed that we kept around. So cute.

The two cats are approaching 12 and 14 years of age, and would be lost without one another. "Breakfast time at 8 so they're geeting a little antsy. One just walked across my keyboard, while the other came over and pushed his face up against my shoulder. It's getting a bit crowded. MEOW........

I lost my rescue dog Missy in November to kidney disease. She was 15 - I adopted her when she was 8 and had 7 wonderful years with her. I adopted a 7 year poodle Sunny within a month. He is an equally wonderful dog. I love watching him interact with my cat - was worried because he had never been around cats. Fortunately no problem. Richie - at least your cat's breakfast time is 8 AM - Brandi starts at 5:30 AM. There is something about retirement she doesn't understand.

I got up at about 6 this morning, and they started around 6:15 - at least I got started on a cup o' coffee.

That's OK. I wouldn't want to think about life without them.

When we had the two dogs, the Golden Retriever would always nudge the Schauzer out of the way. Pepper quickly learned that she was the "second banana", and they had a great relationship.

Sunny and Brandi are my pride and joy and I wouldn't trade my life with them for anything either.
