I saw there was a post on Nextdoor about Bernedoodles. We are on the waitlist with the breeders in Summerfield, for sometime in February. It would be great to get a group going. Sounds like we will have our hands full for a while!

With all the amazing mixed breed and even full breed dogs available at pet rescue centers and the local shelters, why would anyone want to wait for an intentionally-mixed-breed dog? Especially one that requires a couple of HOURS of walking every day, and has expensive grooming needs.

The dog world has gone crazy with the doodle thing, just about everything is getting cross breed with poodles. People either seem to be too lazy to deal with a dog that sheds hair or claim to be allergic to any type of shedding dog. Many people these days seem to want a dog that is supposed to be hypoallergenic, needs haircuts instead of daily brushing, and doesn’t shed.

Poodles are very smart. The miniatures and standards enhance the other breeds' traits. The first ones I remember were the Snoodles and Cockapoos. Then the standards came into play with the Goldendoodles and Labradoodles. Probably won't be too long before we see a Pitboodle.

I don't "claim" to be allergic to certain dogs, I "AM" allergic to certain dogs.

I was at a friends for dinner, years ago. He had a couple of black labs. Wonderful dogs. Half way thru dinner, my wife had to take me to urgent care, as my throat was closing up... An no, it wasn't a food allergy...

I would love a golden retriever, but not enough to need to carry an epi-pen...

When my daughter had a cat (it was her roommate's), I could last about 15 minutes in her apartment, before the itching and tearing in my eyes and the sneezing fits started...

We have a Schnoodle. It's our 2nd one. Sadly our first darted after a squirrel and was hit by a car...

She's incredibly smart, and once you "mutt up" a pure bred, most of the health issues disappear...

Plus, I have ZERO allergy issues with her...

Don't have a Bernedoodle yet but plan to get one. We will be on a wait list too from a breeder in Illinois.

Most likley over $2500. The average person looking for a dog does not realize an ethical breeder genetically tests the Sire and Dam before breeding them. The big problem is if you have a Poodle that is genetically tested and meets conformation standards you would not breed with a non Poodle. The majority of the doodles come from the Amish, backyard breeders or puppy mills. Ethical breeders do not mix breeds.
