Default Boarding

Went back several pages, could find any topics on boarding? Some reason the search feature not binging anything up?

May have to board my little precious Annie the intelligent but bullheaded Carin terrier for couple weeks? Would like some opinions where to board. Really don't want place that just cages 23 hours out of the day, but has established humane record. Our little girl about 16 years old and I don't want her to suffer. Or am I asking too much from business?

Bedtime Tails Luxury Pet Hotel, 6804 SE 144th Place Rd, Summerfield. We've used them several times. Our dog is VERY spoiled, and she seems to do well there.

We recently used them. Excellent care. We recently used them since our Bailey is on seizure meds and they have someone there 24/7 and are close to PAWS animal clinic.

Your post brought back some memories and made me chuckle since it happened several years ago! This didn't happen in The Villages!

I lived in northern VA (near DC) and had two cats -- one was on daily meds and fluids. I looked at many boarding facilities and chose this one because it was a respected veterinary hospital with a state-of-the art, large boarding facility. They wanted one cat kept in their higher care unit at a higher daily rate. I decided to keep the cats together and paid the higher boarding fee for both cats. The cats boarding cost more than my entire trip to Florida! I thought I was all set!

Wouldn't you know the DC/VA area had a rare blizzard when we were basking in the sun at our condo on St. Augustine Beach! They had well over 20" of snow and you may know that the DC area shuts down if they are even predicting snow! Unfortunately, only one tech was on staff when the storm started and no one else got in for many days!! The tech was too busy with so many animals to care for that he wasn't able to give give my cat his fluids.

Luckily, Cheetah made it through his vacation at this luxury boarding facility and lived to 18.

At least, you shouldn't have to worry about a blizzard! But, not all good plans go as they are intended.

We don’t mean to take business away from individuals who charge for doing pet sitting, but something you may want to consider for your Annie is free in-home pet sitting. Retirees, like my husband and I, travel the world caring for homes and pets at no cost to the homeowner in exchange for free accommodations.

We are currently at The Villages doing a two month house/pet sit for two beautiful dogs. We’re writing not to have you consider us, but rather to introduce you to the concept.

Pet owners benefit by not having to kennel/board their pets and their home is safer since it’s lived in while they are on vacation/holiday. The pets get to stay in their own environment and we follow each homeowner’s specific requirements regarding exercise, feeding, etc.

You join the network, post your need (including beautiful Villages location, dates, etc.) and mention Annie's age. You can specifically request a pet sitter who has experience with elderly dogs.

We have done free in-home pet and house sitting from 2 weeks to 3 ½ months in the U.S., Spain, Australia, New Zealand, The Caribbean, Scotland and London. The upside to us is we get to travel the world without paying for hotels or lodging. The upside for the pet owner is they get to travel stress free knowing their much loved pet(s) is being cared for in the comfort of their own home.

Although you are inviting a “stranger” into your home, there are many safeguards in this system. Those posting an upcoming sit do not provide their name or address. The connection between the two parties (the homeowner and the pet sitter) is confidential, until the two parties agree to share information. The house/pet sitters include references on their profile.

We will send you a Private Message with the website which explains more about how it works since we can’t include a URL on TOTV.

I will agree. Kathy has a beautiful place that is very clean. My dog goes outside 5 times a day in a nice fenced in area. Kathy was a vet tech before she opened Bedtime Tails Luxury Pet Hotel. She also lives on the premises. Call Kathy to take a tour, she would love to show you around. Janet

When we signed the contract on our house, I went in search of boarding kennels, knowing we'd be heading out on a cruise a month after moving in. We settled on Bedtime Tails. Very clean and a great schedule of opportunities to go play.

I have a question about boarding cats although not sure how to word it. Is there anyplace that boards cats that doesn't just leave them in a cage all day? I know you can't walk a cat like you do a dog, so what do you do with them besides feed them and clean their litterbox? My cat does not necessarily like strangers and will hide until she gets to know you, then she is the most lovable little girl. She loves to cuddle up with you and loves to have company so I would hate to board her and have her just left in a cage all day, every day, so not sure how that works in a boarding facility?

Bedtime Tails looks like theirs are not caged in the photo gallery. Link below will take you to the "Rates" page. Cat rates are middle of page for cat room, nothing about cage. Also check out their photo gallery and you can email them obout any questions you might have.
