I asked this on a different forum, but no one seemed to have an answer.
If you bought an AutoSlide to use as an Automated Pet Sliding Door - did you install it yourself or hire a handyman? If you used a handyman - which one and did he do a good job? Original Post: Can anyone recommend a handyman, who has installed the Autoslide. It is designed as a DIY project, but I'm sure that some Villagers are hiring handymen to install it. For those that are wondering what the heck it is, this is the gadget that converts the patio sliding doors into Hands Free for pets and wheelchairs. Maybe your neighbor has one and had it installed by someone. Even if you can't help me with the handyman answer, the video is cute! https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...es/pepper2.gif |

Give Don Cunningham a call.
Not sure if he has installed one, but he is a good general handyman. Default: don22560@yahoo.com Phone Numbers Home: 3522729924 Mobile: 3523912564 |

The are many youtube videos on the installation of the autoslide system. No problem installing the system for a homeowner but getting power up to the unit is a problem for a homeowner (unless you have a 120 duplex outlet way up high next to the top of the sliding door).
So if I was installing an autoslide and didn't want an extension cord running up the wall for power, i would get an electrician to install a wall outlet near the unit, then install the autoslide myself. Also I wouldn't want this thing powered on at night nor while on vacation so I would have to remember to turn on the red light every night. Then I didn't read what type of protective means the autoslide has when activated against a locked door? |

Thank you both for replying and for giving me Don's name.
As for locking, there is an option to upgrade to the locking style. Only dogs or people with a means to open the door electronically can open it. thanks again. |
