I don't have a dog because of allergies so I too get tired of finding feces in my yard or seeing people let their dog come up almost to my front door to do their business.

It shouldn't be necessary, but why not talk to the people that let their dogs pee on your lawn?.
If you say in a very nice way: "I'd appreciate it if you don't walk your dog on my property",
you might be surprised at the reaction.

It's possible that some dog walkers are off in dreamland and have never considered that they are trespassing.
It's worth a try, rather than posting on TOTV!

IMHO, people that allow their dogs to defecate on private or public property,
including golf courses, are extremely rude and beyond help.

If you catch someone in the act, I suggest you take their picture.
And forward it to the online newspaper.
They seem to like bad parking, they'll love rude dog owners.

Vito and Rocco are unemployed as of today. They are available to deliver the inspirational speech for the property owner. Will work for Spaghetti & Meatballs and Tilapia.

Most of the time it’s a futile conversation. The I’d appreciate conversation is met with rude remarks, the finger, and my dog does not do damage to our yard, why is it problem. On average per day we have no less than 11 dogs per day using our facilities. We actually have a dog owner who raises their garage door half way, stoops underneath, drags the dog down the drive, away from their lawn, walks across the street to our lawn so the dog can use our facilities.

Response is I did know you were home. It’s a multi daily thing. But I will say they have the perfect lawn, and ours well it has gone to the dogs, so to speak.

We are on the corner, we get lots of puppy traffic. Our fur baby does not live here yet, so rude awakening for her when she gets to move in. She is very territorial and is not going to be happy when she comes here to live full-time.

Just curious . . . what do you think of this comment???

Interesting replies, most of whom don't get it. I am not attempting to make new friends with this post, and your welcome to the villages comment is late because I have now been here 17 years. My purpose is to point out leash laws, using common areas that are NOT dog parks, ENTITLED dog owners that think my yard is THEIR personal dog park. I will never understand the hubris and temerity of dog owners ASSUMING the right to walk their dogs on private property. If you are a dog owner, use YOUR yard. I respect YOUR property and would never enter uninvited. Cant use your yard? Get rid of your dog, you get all the enjoyment at home, I get your crap. THINK ABOUT IT!
I agree 100 percent!

First of all I agree with the OP 100%

Then read in today's Daily Sun in the advice column that someone had a solution to dogs doing their "thing" in other people's yards. It has to do with Jars Full of Water...I'm skeptical but maybe it would work. Anyone want to try it and get back here with their opinion??

I have rental units with 250 tenants and this is a constant complaint.
I am a true dog lover and agree completely - keep off of other peoples property
Take care of your dog like you take care of your children (which is why we have problems!!)
Now we can start a thread about unruly kids.

Here it is Bare.

Ironic that it is answering a previous letter from...'Can't Go Barefoot....'

Thanks for posting the letter CNM.
That is a fascinating theory.
If it works in Hawaii, it may work in The Villages.
Worth a try anyway.
