Default Does Your Vet Work You In Without Extra Charges?

If your pet needs to be seen right away, does your vet work them in without an extra charge?

On 25 right next to Race Trac gas station. Never
Was charged extra for same day visit. Might have
To wait awhile but love the service & office.

I own a home in The Villages but only visit now a couple of times a year. In December, my 11 month old puppy ate something in the back yard of the home we were renting and got violently sick! We didn't have a vet in the area. It was Christmas week and some vets were closed and others were booked! Luckily, we were able to get Lexi into Buffalo Ridge off of 466. They did not charge us extra for the visit. The charge was a little over $200 for the office visit, two medications in the office, 2-3 X-rays to make sure everything was okay in her tummy and a CD of the X-rays and office report to take to my Michigan vet. I'm not sure what vet I will be using when I make the move to The Villages but I was very pleased with the services at Buffalo Ridge.

I've never heard of a vet charging extra to bring a pet in on an emergency basis. I know Park Heights doesn't.

I take my dog to Belleview Veterinary Hospital and they recently started charging $15 for walk-ins. If you call and get an appointment for that day, I don't think there is an extra fee. I think people were beginning to take advantage and just walked in expecting to be seen.

Our old vet did charge extra .. instead of $45 for an office visit they charged $90. They recently even sent an email out stating the fact. A few months ago one of our dogs was not well, when we called to see if we could bring him in we were told that they had no appointments available and could see him the following week. Then they said, we could bring him in right now and they would see him immediately for $90. We don't go there anymore.

Our Molly was sick last week prior to her passing. We needed to see the vet that day, during working hours. Buffalo Ridge stated we would have to pay an extra $47.00 on top of the exam fee for the 1:20 appt. We ended up taking another appt at 6:20pm - and there was still the "Urgent Care" fee of $47.00. So either day time or night - there is the upcharge if you don't have a scheduled appointment.
