Default Dog park in St James

Does anyone know if there is a dog park near the St James area?

I'm not sure where St. James is. There are three Villages Dog Parks which are free to use. We need more. (1) beside the Bonita Fire Hall (2) in the Historical area at the foot of the golf cart bridge (3) in the north/west quadrant (Mulberry).

There is a private dog park on CR 101 north of CR 466 called Doggie Doo Run Run. $25 per month for one dog, $30 for two dogs, unlimited use. Very clean.

Beside the Bonita Fire Hall is the closest to St. James.

Brinson is the dog park that was mentioned as being beside the Bonita Fire Hall. I've heard that it often doesn't open in the afternoon until 3 PM, but I don't have first hand experience. We use the private dog park on CR 101 which is open daily from 7 AM until 6 PM.

The last time I went there-- around late February-- they had been open a few hours in the morning and then a few hours in the mid to late afternoon.

The small dog section at Brinson is mostly on a steep incline so it is very difficult to try to pick up the dog's poop while also keeping from missteping and falling. You also need to look out for poop that has not been picked up which has no convenient markers as with the colored flags at Doggie Doo Run Run.

Brinson's large dog section is on more level land but its for larger pooches.

It really was an outrageous waste of money to build. The small dog section is so tiny that the dogs have almost no room to run. The hillside it is built on has several trees with roots projecting due to the ground being so heavily traveled by people and pooches. The possibility of someone tripping and falling appears to be significant. So many dogs are doing "their business" that all my dog does there is sniff.

TV needs dog parks - but we need to have them be functional, not just a palliative.

Not that I've noticed. We take our dog to Brinson daily and have only been checked a couple of times by the CDD patrol that comes to lock the gates. The small dog park is adequate for our dog but a larger, more level park would be welcomed. We like to use the park as a potty so that we can dispose of it without having to deal with the odors at home!
