Please don't chase or call... Just keep us informed as to where you see him

Susan is going to try to put the trap down again as soon as she can get there.

We don't want him scared. We need hi to stay put.

Please advise if you see him
That's great news. Good luck capturing Chewy.

I've been out walking the area again today~ have not seen Chewy, but will watch out for him and read your posts on here. I have WVLG's phone number in my cellphone. Fingers crossed.

Default Another Trap Set in Charlotte

Chewy was resting under a palm for about an hour -- until someone drove up and chased him prior to our arrival with the animal trap. According to the kind resident that watched him, Chewy's back right leg is VERY swollen and he's limping badly.

When Sumter Animal Services opens at 9a tomorrow, I'll work with them on additional proper trap placement.

Thank you all for the phone calls, emails & words of encouragement as we trek on to find Chewy. And thanks for helping keep this post visible...

Sorry to hear about Chewy's limp. Maybe, that will slow him down and keep him in a safer place.

I believe this is the dog I saw on Highridge ( Village of Charlotte) on Sat. I called the radio station and Community Watch.

Yes, it was him and we appreciate you calling it in - it was a big help. He had moved from Dunedin to Sanibel/Charlotte overnight. Please continue to call Community Watch with sightings -- please don't chase or even stare at Chewy or he will bolt.

More traps will be set in the area today.

Good luck catching Chewy.

Once in a while there will be a dog at Doggie Doo Run Run that does not want to go home. I recall that Grace took to putting a 15 feet or so leash of Billikins because of the hours a few days before it took to nab Grace's dog before she could get home. And it sounded like she had a golf cart as well as a few men chasing Billikns in a 5 acre enclosed field at Doggie Doo Run Run.

I had leaped on Billikins' 15 feet leash a few times before as well.

Chewy was last spotted at 10:20pm on Fellowship and Usher Place in Village of Lake Deaton.

Any help looking in these areas tomorrow would be appreciated - he has worn us out in the past 6 hours...
Good luck finding him, but I hope he doesn't get to thirsty & goes to near the ponds or a coyote sees him.

The swollen leg and limp may turn out to be a positive - it may slow Chewy down and keep him in one area.
Hopefully, this is the day that Chewy
will find a live trap and take the bait. Poor little guy has to be hungry by now.
Let's stay positive and optimistic in our thoughts and comments.

Default Chewy Recooperating

Chewy is safe and decompressing after his BIG adventure. He has a vet appointment in the morning to assess his needs.

Sorry for the delayed post but I have been very busy since we got him around 10am

Here's a photo of Chewy relaxing --notice he's sporting a new harness, collar and tag which we donated.
