Default Emergency vet

Had to take my cat to the emergency vet this morning due to his eye was bleeding. I would like to say the staff at the animal emergency clinic at buffalo ridge were very friendly and took the cat right in. The gentleman (assistant) was wonderful in explaining everything to us. I'm sorry that I didn't get his name but he taught us how to give our cat his pills and how to put the eye cream in. He is an excellent assistant. The doctor we saw was very caring and took time to explain all of the tests that needed to be done. Glad that were there since my regular vets was closed. Will be going back if we need any more emergency care.

I, too, was pleased with my dogs emergency care at Buffalo Ridge. He was diagnosed properly with a guarded prognosis, treatment was started and follow-up to be done at my own vet. Dr Eisenhawer was very compassionate. She gave me oodles of printed information on the disease. My dog is still being treated a month later and is much improved.

I also was very pleased with the care my dog received at Buffalo Ridge when he needed emergency treatment. And I was pleasantly surprised at their prices. It was much less than emergency vet visits in my previous town.

Thank you for this information as I close on my home in Gilchrist on Dec 5th and have 2 dogs. One has had 2 surgeries and 3 procedures for hepatic macro vascular dysplasia (bladder stones) and needs to see a specialist. My vet here in Chgo has recommended we go to UFLA vet center, which I intend to do, but it is nice to have an emergency vet center close to home!! Thanks for posting!

did you know..that there was no emergency hospital in the villages until last year..after begging several vets..finally buffalo ridge agreed to open up their doors.after hours and on the weekends. pets like humans are not 9 to 5 living beings ...they get sick as well just like the rest of us..and are not on 'schedule' i am thanking God for buffalo ridge that accomodates people now in the villages. the nearest emergency clinic i know is in leesburg..and its an instant $100 to just step into the facility ..no lie. glad your pet is doing okay God bless you and all the little critters out there.

We had our first experience with Buffalo Ridge Animal Emergency facility this weekend, starting Friday night when our regular vet closed and let us know that our dog needed round the clock care. Not to drag out the problem - he was naseaus and then didn't want to eat, and to complicate the matter he has diabetes. Anyway, Dr. Eliza Eisenhawer was wonderful. She was very thorough and patient with all of our questions. We we able to visit on Saturday, and were even allowed to take Nathan for a walk. When we were able to bring him home Sunday morning, we were given a very detailed aftercare plan. Would definitely recommend this emergency facility.
