Arrow FREE, Fast & Easy! Help the Shelter Pets

Support for Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County – FREE, Fast & Easy!

If anyone is willing to bookmark this site and do a daily click, it would be greatly appreciated. I received the following and am passing it on…….

Our local Humane Society/SPCA has entered the Animal Rescue Site’s $100,000 Holiday Shelter + Challenge. But they have NO chance of receiving any levels of monies if they do not receive votes from their supporters.

Please vote DAILY at this site, as you are allowed 1 per day from today until Dec. 19th. Voting is free and you don’t have to register, just go to:

http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/c...faces?siteId=3

Type their name in the shelter search: Humane Society/SPCA along with

State: FL & City: Lake Pan (abbreviation ok)

The Humane Society at Lake Panasoffkee should be displayed. You only have to do this the first day you vote – after that it retains the information and it will say “this is the shelter you voted for on your last visit”. Go down a little further and see “click here to see full results, then on United States tab. The Sumter County Shelter is not at the top but it’s in THE TOP TEN! Let’s keep it moving up! It's so easy to bookmark the site and vote when you check your emails.

Vote once a day if you could…… Voting takes one minute a day to make a big difference to many little lives who want a chance at happiness! It’s as simple as that! Please forward this information to some of your friends and ask them to do the same.

The Grand Prize is one $10,000 grant; Second Prize- one $5,000 grant, Third Prize-one $2,000 grant and "Dark Horse" Prizes- eight $1,000 grants each. In addition there are 3 monthly (Oct - Dec) prizes of $2,000 grants each and fourteen Weekly Winners of $1,000 grants. So there are many ways they can win some financial assistance as times have been REALLY tough this past year regarding donation!

Many thanks for your continued help!!

Susan

I applaud everyone who takes it in their heart to help the lost animals of the world and provide them with a good home or at least to support the ability of the rescue organizations to care for these animals.
I, myself have rescued 3 great cats and my wife is holding me back from adopting any more. I can't blame her, but I've never seen a cute kitten/cat I didn't want to bring home.

Here's a video from the music group OK Go in which a bunch of former rescue dogs perform with them and is dedicated to Animal Rescue. My treat to you lovers of dogs.

Snelson,

Thankyou sooooo much for putting this information out. Its our job to speak up for these precious animals who cant speak for themselves.

I also wanted to add that a couple hours a week volunteering at one of our local shelters would be appreciated beyond words. Its truly a wonderful feeling to get out in the fresh air and walk one of these homeless pups. Both you and the dog benefits greatly.Old Blankets, rugs and towels are also appreciated. Those concrete floors can be really hard and cold in the dead of winter (even in Florida). Just my 2 cents. Thanks, and the animals will thank you too, in their own way.

snelson, I will do this daily. BUT ...

I just tried to vote, and you have to identify a little red bug before they will accept your vote. I tried "bug" and "beetle" .. someone put me out of my misery and tell me what that thing is!

I went into the site again and this time I got a dog, easy peasy. I'll put the site on my desktop right beside the icon for TOTV.

It is heartbreaking reading some of the names of the rescue organizations. "Blind cat refuge and sanctuary". I wish I could afford to send them all a donation. To me, the people who run these shelters are real-life heros.

I'm on and bookmarked - will vote daily. This is a good thing!

Did anyone see the article in Friday's paper about the Golfing for Furry Friends. That's me with the T-shirt with my furry friends on it helping to check people in. We are doing a Bowling for Furry Friends on October 23rd. Applications available at the bowling alleys or PM me.

Wonder if the "little red bug" was a lady bug?

Tal, I tried "bug" and "beetle". I didn't try "insect". I tried later in the day and ended up with a dog to identify.

Today when I voted I got a skunk. A little easier to identify!

Everyone please vote!
