Default Happy Ending!

My long-term tenants recently moved back to Atlanta and Mom and I decided to start furnishing our home so we can enjoy it! We arrived today after a long drive from Michigan. Someone accidentally left the golf cart garage open after we finished unpacking the Flex!

Lexi, my 15 month old ShihTzu, went running out the door! Lexi is never outside without a leash -- even in Michigan. She had on her name tag, her rabies tag, her dog license and she is micro-chipped but it scared me to death. All I could think of was all of the lost dogs in The Villages lately!

Lexi took a few steps towards me and then went running for the road. She is a free spirit when she is outside! Luckily for me, she saw a neighbor in the yard a couple of homes away and she ran to greet her. Lexi is very friendly and thinks everyone loves her! Anyway, my neighbor caught her! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

So happy there is a happy ending to this story. It is very scary when you realize they are free and panic set in.
Welcome! Enjoy your new home.

One thing I have learned that might be helpful in the future. When one of our dogs would get out accidentally, I sat down on the ground. With both dogs, they thought it was so strange they came over to investigate.

Glad you got Lexi back safely. That certainly is a scare.
