Default Help these 6 shelter dogs avoid euthanasia

I'm a former volunteer at Your Humane Society/SPCA in Lake Panasoffkee and have organized a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds so that 6 at-risk shelter dogs can get behavior modification training.

I worked with all these dogs and their issues are not insurmountable. They are all great dogs. The shelter is sending them for training and is covering the cost of the initial 2-week evaluation but has decided that if funds are not available for training, they will be euthanized.

Click on the link for the details. Please donate if you can and please share the fundraiser.

UPDATE! On Monday, April 4, the first two of our six dogs, Indie and Honey Bear, will be transported to the training facility for their initial 2-week evaluation.

We are very excited that both are getting their much-deserved chance at a professional intensive evaluation and if all goes well, they will be accepted into their extended training program with the hopes both will find their furever home or foster home after 2 years for Indie and 3 years for Honey Bear at our shelter. Our excitement is also tinged with sadness as they will both be missed by many of the Volunteers at our facility who have enjoyed interacting with them over the years.

Your Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County FL will be covering the cost for the evaluations on all 6 dogs. Hopefully all will make it through the evaluations and continue on for their training programs which are 1, 2 or 3 months depending on our dogs needs. And thanks to your generous support, we currently have the funds available to pay for the training costs for these first two dogs for one month each.

However, if any or all of our 6 dogs (Indie, Honey Bear, Miss Pretty, Rascal, Cassis and Nico) require more than one month of training, we do not have the funds to cover the cost and Your Humane Society would sadly have to euthanize these dogs even if training is recommended to ensure these dogs can become adoptable.

We hope and need to continue to raise funds for all 6 dogs, as well as a contingency if the facility's suggestion is 2-3 months of training.

If you are unable to donate or can donate again, please consider sharing this fundraising campaign again via email or on your social media platforms.
