Default Beau and his nine inch + anole.

Yesterday, Beau managed to capture a nine inch anole ( a lizard) by the Postal Station mainly because the anole was probably too big to fit through the cracks in the mail center building where the smaller ones usually escape to in order to escape for Beau. Beau did not know what to do with the creature this large and just held a paw on it for what seemed like five minutes showing it off to the people who came to get their mail. Finally, he let it go but just barely managed to capture it again as it sought sanctuary by climbing up the wall. Just too slow and Beau had it again. It did not last that much longer as he tried to get it to play with him some more by pawing at it and finally finishing it off by biting it. Then he had to sit and admire his work for a parade of people getting their mail. Some with dogs that I had to keep an eye on in case they become jealous of Beau and his latest trophy.

Beau hovers over some much easier prey. Talked to my friend Susan at Doggie Doo Run Run about this feat of Beau's yesterday but since I have a lot on my mind of late, it came out that I claimed that Beau got a nine foot lizard. Well, she did not believe that. But Beau can dream like me.

Your Beau looks as vicious as my two lhasa apso's are. Does anyone know if the anole has a chemical protection on the skin like some frogs do.

Considering how many of these my Beau and my previous dog Sport caught; I kind of doubt that they have any chemical protection. The toads do and some dogs have gotten quite sick by licking them or otherwise coming into contact with these critters. Toad Venom Toxicosis in Dogs | petMD

That's an awfully big anole. Are you sure it isn't an iguana in disguise?
