Exclamation It's a boy!

Mando look-alike is a boy! Lots of things happened fast this afternoon. I called Barb at Pet Lovers Rescue to ask if she knew of any free spay/neuter programs as we were thinking of releasing the cat back to the outdoors. She said there weren't any and that she knew someone with a farm that would take the cat but it had to be fixed first. Then I think she had a change of heart because she said for a $95 donation, the Vet she uses (next to White's Furniture up by Del Webb) will test the cat for heartworm, etc & if OK then spay/neuter it, deworm it, & give it all the shots. She called tonight & said that Stanley (the Vet techs named him) is disease-free so he will be neutered on Monday or Tuesday. She will keep him for the week of recovery needed then place him at Petco for adoption!!!!! If he's still there on Fridays then we will take him home for the weekend and continue this until he finds a forever home. I'm so thankful for her change of heart. After seeing the cat at the Vet she said he is not feral and should make a good pet. I'll bet it was all the prayers you guys said for him. Thanks, Barb.

Way to go. Glad to hear that the cat is not feral and will have a chance at a domestic life. Hope Stanley finds his Hardy!

Great news about Stanley the boy.

I'm a huge fan of Pet Lovers and of Barb. Barb works tirelessly on behalf of animals, and Pet Lovers Rescue is a wonderful organization. Of course I'm biased because Pet Lovers rescued LolliPop and her siblings when they were young and abandoned. (Imagine abandoning a litter of Portugese Water Dogs.)

LolliPop was subsequently adopted out a couple of times and returned to Pet Lovers. She is very cute, but she is quite large and not very graceful. We adopted LolliPop three years ago when she was two. The previous owners just weren't willing to put in the time to take her to the dog park and play with her. We absolutely adore her. She is the only dog I've ever had that clacks her teeth when she is happy.

Kitty Kat this is wonderful news, this all came about because you cared enough to become involved. Stanley is a handsome boy and deserves a good home. I didn't think Stanley was feral; a feral cat would have ripped your lanai to shreds trying to escape. Barb sounds like an amazing person and the vet's office deserves a .

Look what happens when people work together--a life was saved. When Stanley is adopted think how he will change that person's life and others around him. It will be unending. God's hand guided Stanley my way & then Taltarzac started a thread about Mando. I pray that Mando finds help to come home.

Smile Stanley is at Petco!

What a week this has been. Stanley was neutered Tues & on Wed Barb called me to tell me that she couldn't keep him at her house after all so I picked him up & brought him home. Kept him on the lanai most of the time but brought him into my bedroom at night which he loved! He loves to be petted & especially likes to be scratched under his chin/on the side of his face. He was so antsy I had to laugh at him. I'd pet him & then he'd rush his head at my face. Laid right against my pillow. Late Sat afternoon/early evening I brought him in to my TV/computer room & he got up in the window. After awhile he got up on my lap and after changing positions every 10 seconds he finally settled down to sleep. My own 2 cats don't do this. Really hated to take him to Petco today. I so wish I could have kept him. Guess what?! There was a kitten there that looks just like Stanley, black patch under its chin & other markings as well. Could use some of those prayers again that Stanley (& the other kittens) gets adopted soon.

Your post brought tears to my eyes. Stanly is obviously a tame and loving cat looking for affection. As you well know not all cats are affectionate. He is absolutely GORGEOUS. I'm praying that the two black & white cats find their forever home. Thank you for your kindness. What goes around will come around; you deserve evey kind thing that comes around.

Stanley sounds like a lovely pet for someone, obviously very affectionate. I think he was thanking you for taking him in, and probably saving his life.

Talking Stanley has a forever home!

I went to Petco Thursday to see Stanley & he wasn't there & neither was the black & white kitten. I called Barb but had to leave a msg. She called me Sat & said he was adopted by a couple from Buttonwood. Duffysmom, you did it along with other prayers, I'm sure. I thought for sure the other kittens would go before Stanley. I asked Barb if she told the couple that he was shy at first & she said that they were all petting him & he was loving it! I'm so happy I could burst. THE END
