Default Female Dog Question

I was told that female dog's pee is different than male dog's pee and that it stains lawns.

I have a dog who pees on a pad, and if I walk her it is just to stretch, however I never heard of this before.

Is it true?

I have a small female ShihPoo and she has never left a stain or killed any grass in our lawn.

Other than different dogs having different ph concentrates, doesn't really matter if a dog or a bitch. Females dogs have a tendency to urinate a larger amount in one spot (males have to dribble everywhere -- more neighborly, ya know), thus having the potential to cause more damage.

We have two female furbabies and they pee in our yard (zoysia grass) numerous times every day and we don't have any stains in our yard. Our previous yard in KC was fescue grass and we didn't have any stains there.

Default dog pee

I had an older aussie female that killed anything she peed on. I've heard differing opinions as to why. Some say it's because females pee alot more in one spot than a male. I'm not sure but she was killing our new lawn so I started to take her out to a field that I kept mowed behind our property and she killed weeds, grass or anything her pee came in contact with. I've had many other dogs, mostly male and none killed the grass except the aussie female.

All our male dogs' pee (three goldens, a Springer Spaniel, a German shepherd dog) killed the grass. They all ate different kinds of food. Three were squatters; two leg lifters. Three were markers; two were not.

Our male lab has killed a lot of our backyard grass, but I learned last year not to scratch it with a rake and try to put down seed as we used to do up north. If he is directed to new spots, the old ones eventually fill in by themselves.
