A Beagle mix is a large breed???
Yes, that's funny!

I'm not sure what to call my 95 lb. mixed breed rescue gal,
but of course, your daughter's pup is welcomed here.

Is there a contest?

My guess is that your little girl is a large Doberman/whippet cross.

Where do I pick up my box of crackerjack with prize?

As you can see in my picture, we have a large rescue, Lollipop. The little guy is Biggins.

The Villages is very pet friendly. Dogs must be leashed and kept off private property.
And of course, you must pick up after your dog!

There is a huge private dog park, $3 per day, if you want details please PM me.
The dog parks I have seen within the newer Villages (south of 441) are a joke. However, the one on the other side of 441 is not bad at all.

Shaded by trees, benches for humans, water for the pups, separate areas for big and little dogs and best of all -- FREE!

We truly need a new one that offers the same things, south of 466A -- one that is SPACIOUS . . . please!

I agree, the Bonita Dog park is woefully inadequate for the needs of the thousands of dogs living south of CR 466. It's small, built on a hill, and very hard to navigate for any retiree with a knee or hip issue.

We gave up on Villages provided dog parks. We go daily to the private park on CR 101, just north of Southern Trace Plaza. We pay $30 per month for two dogs. It is enormous with three separate fenced ares. Our dogs love it there, and we've met many great dog lovers. It's well worth the drive!

Please put that in your survey response, Bonanza.

You definitely got the Doberman part right. Where did you come up with the Whippet part?

Can anyone tell me what the dog park near Bonita Blvd. is like ? Are there separate areas for large and small dogs? Thanks for any help you can give me on this topic.

There are separate areas for large and small dogs, but it is a pathetic excuse for a dog park. Lots of dirt. The large dog side is short and uphill. The small dog part was full of barking dogs, and it sounded like they had worked themselves into a frenzy. Both sides are small and right next to each other. Our dog was put off by all the barking, looked away when we had to walk past it. (That's his modus operandi when he's afraid or leery of something.)

Also, it's closed for certain hours during the day. We only went there once and were so disappointed we never went back.

Only in the Villages would a Beagle mix be considered a large dog!
