Default TOMBSTONE IS HOME!!!!!!!!!!! - Lost cat

My heart is breaking...my cat somehow got out of the house last night. I searched last night and at the crack of dawn. No luck. Please help bring him home.

We live in Buttonwood and our cat is a large black and grey striped short haired domestic. May be wearing a yellow collar. His name is Tombstone and he is very friendly. Please call if you have him or if you have seen him.

Thank you.

I know how you feel. So sorry!

Have you called the radio station? They are wonderful at getting the word out. When our cat got out we found her in our neighbor's shrubs. I hope Tombstone comes home soon. They usually do....on their own, but it's still scary.

I also know how you are feeling. My cat Torie got out when we were visiting our condo in St. Augustine Beach. It was over Christmas and everything on the beach was closed. Torie had never been there before and I freaked out. The neighbors probably thought I was crazy crawling through the bushes with a flashlight looking for her in the middle of the night!

After 3 days, someone suggested that I put out food for her at both doors. It worked!! She came home a few hours later!! That was a few years ago and she is still scared of loud noises. Who knows what happened to her when she was lost!

Good luck! I'm not in TV now or I would help you look for her.

Sable's post points out a fact about lost cats; they mostly stay close by but remain hidden. I suspect they are so frightened they shut down but eventually hunger will override the fear. Ladydoc please let us know when Torie comes home.

So sorry to hear that. I hope you find him soon. I would freak out if my cat got loose. Put some food by your front door. Sometimes that works.

My daughter's cat got out and hid in the attic of the neighbor's garage. Never would have found him but my d. was outside and hear a faint mewing and looked up and there he was peering through the window. They do hide when they're outside.

Get canned tuna -- it has a stronger smell than most wet cat foods -- and leave it by the door. I hope your baby shows up soon.

Ladydoc, go out now while it's quiet and everyone is inside watching the Super Bowl. Walk around and call softly for your cat. If that doesn't work, leave some food outside your doors.

Fingers crossed for your kitty.

I am still out at night looking for Caesar, my lost white cat. There was a hopeful match at the Marion County Animal Services Center this week, but it wasn't him. I know now your loss feels and hope you are lucky enough to find your cat. The best hope is if people call the Radio Station if they spot a wandering cat and report the sighting as soon as possible. Be sure to let the Radio Station know his description and your contact information.
