Wow! Thanks, Bare! Back at ya.

If Bambi hasn't found a home by mid October, I would like to see how she would feel around our 85-lb lug of a clumsy, friendly dog.

I sure hope that things work out for Bambi, and that she can wait for October. It must be so horrible to be a pet owner and have to go into a Nursing Home and abandon a beloved pet.

UPDATE: Bambi was just taken to her foster home tonight so she is no longer staying in the cage Of course, it is just a foster home and she IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION so please do contact me if you would like to meet her...no pressure to adopt her, we know it has to be mutual match.

I'm still waiting to get down to TV in October to see if Bambi would thrive around big Crosby. I would love to give an older dog a home, and I would love to take her to see her owner in the assisted living home if it would not be too distressing to the owner/Bambi/me! In that order.

But keep looking for a home for her in the meantime. I'm concerned about the size difference. Bare, what are your Mutt & Jeff weighing in at? The little one looks like it's a little sturdier than Bambi.

This small-dog thing is a totally new area to us. Croz is totally socialized, but I would really want to be sure he wouldn't hurt her in play.

I'm relieved to hear that Bambi is out of the cage and in a foster home.

You asked about the size difference of my dogs. My little guy, Biggins, is ten pounds and twelve years old. Lollipop weighs seventy pounds. We adopted LolliPop three years ago, when she was approximately three years old. She had three homes before us, so we're not positive about details.

Biggins and Lollipop get along perfectly. They do play together daily. Biggins has a ton of energy for a twelve year old dog, and he loves to play. It is especially funny to see them play tug-of-war. The big dog will even lay down on the floor so there isn't such a size difference. When they play in the park, the little one will tease the big one, because Biggins loves being chased by big dogs. He zekes and zags and usually can outrun them. Ocasionally when they're playing in the park, the big dog will get too rough and I'll have to stop the play. But Lolli is surprisingly gentle, she seems to respect the size difference.

I just think of how horrible it would be to have to go to a nursery home and leave your dog "up for grabs". So sad. I do have my fingers crossed that Bambi will find a good home.

Bambi's foster family also has a SCHNAUZER available for adoption if anyone is interested! He is a male, neutered, 5 years old and house trained! I don't have a picture yet. Call if you are interested in meeting him 352-205-5697
