We have a 28 year old Goffin Cockatoo, and we are not sure about this drive down to TV from New York Sate, hope he does well. Is there a vet who specializes in Birds too?

We have a Cockatiel. Not as big as your Cockatoo, but he makes the drive down from MI just fine. We've been doing this since 2007. We have found that covering his cage up while in the car works best. He seems frightened of all the movement when not covered. When covered, he just natters away for three days, running through his words and whistles.

We signed up with Park Heights/Villages Vetrinarian services because they have an avian vet. Hopefully we won't need to use one.

Preppy Pets and also Pet Lodge and Spa in Leesburg sits birds--your cage--for $8/day. I am going to call Trudy too to see what her prices are.

The Village Sitter, Charlene and Steve, also will come to your home to take care of birds. (352) 633-5063. Very loving.
