Default Parrot sitter

Does anyone know of a Parrot sitter in the villages or where I could board my parrot while I am on vacation in Sept. I am new to the Villages and would appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you, Bonnie Howlett

We board our Cockatiel at Bedtime Tails 352-347-7183. They are a sponsor on TOTV, so you can search for them in the pet forum. They have a cage there that's big enough for an African Gray, or you can bring your own. Nice people and very clean facility.

Did you now there is a parrot club in the Villages - called Fine Feathered Friends. It meets the 4th Saturday of the month at Mulberry Grove Rec Center at 10 a.m. If you look online in villages.net, they list all the clubs in the villages and contact information. This will give you the leader's name/number and you can call her. I have a parrot myself but am gone most of September. I know the kennel ABCD has a parrot room and will board parrots for not much money. I have boarded my gal there a few times and while not ideal, it's okay and they care for them well - just don't let them out of the cage and/or clean the inside of the cage. Just fresh food/water daily. So after a week+, it's pretty messy.

Anywhere we have left our cockatiel, they have not cleaned the cage. I guess it's just not in the parrot-sitting job description. Preppy Pet, Pet Lodge and Spa, and Bedtime Tails all board birds.

Have you asked at your parrot's vet?

We take our dogs to The Dogs and Cats Pet Resort. It is just outside TV in Ocala. I always see a parrot or two there in the office area when we drop off or pick up. I am sure they are boarders. It is a little bit of a drive but we love it there. All the workers are Vet techs and the owner is A Vet Tech and they have a VET on staff if your pet has a problem while you are gone.
Good Luck.
