Default potty patch

Hi there! I am a wannabee frog (I guess) and have been reading the threads to see what life is like for a few weeks now. I will be coming down in May for a visit and I just can't control my excitement (but I try). I came across a post about a potty patch put in under the screened in area of the home. My question is, doesn't it begin to have a strong odor after a while? How do you care for it? I have 2 pups, Peanut and Lamb Chop who will be moving down with me, and this looks like an option. Does anyone have experience with this system? Thanks!

Here is some information on Artificial turf for dogs.

ProGreen Synthetic Grass - Dog Runs

Artificial or Synthetic Turf for Dog Runs & Pet Facilities

You have to pick up the poop (Yes everyone... I said "poop"... don't get your undies in a bunch) just like you do if they were in your yard and wash it down just as you would grass. It's built on layers of sand and gravel to drain so it will drain, and they pour sand into the grass.

Here is a Daycare and boarding facility in Wisconsin who uses this in their play areas and you wouldn't know they had dogs there if you didn't see them.

If I had thought about it, I would have put it in my yard up north a long time ago!

Check it out for yourself!
