I apologize up front for probably bringing up a well worn subuct. Hubby and I arrive at our new home in Buttonwood next week, and have realized "Invisible fence" is the solution to keeping our little dog safe without incurring the wrath of the "NO fences in TV" faction.
I would very much appreciate information as to who to use for invisible fence service, and approximate cost. Our yard is of course, small ![]() |

I am not a fan of invisible fences, but that may be all that is allowed in TV.
Just keep in mind that while you're dog will quickly learn through electric shock to not leave the yard, he is not safe from any dog that may be lose or even on a leash. In other words, it is not safe to leave your dog in your yard unattended. |

Thanks Annabelle. I'd not considered other dogs coming into our yard - We have been torturing ourselves worrying about how to keep Meg happy. The word of mouth concensus is to create a shrub "Fence" and add discrete fencing inside. Such a quandary. Worried pet owner, Sandra

There are several discussion threads here on invisible fences.
Type invisible fence in the Search tab at the top of this page and you will find them. Good luck and welcome to TV. ![]()

Sandra,
That sounds like a excellent idea. I did not notice many dogs when we visited TV, but apparently from reading the posts on this forum, there are quite a lot of dog owners in TV. I was surprised that there are even Villagers with large breed dogs. I thought most seniors would probably own a small dog because the yards in TV (in most communities) were not spacious enough for a large dog to run and play. Best of luck to you and dog in your new home! Annabelle |

We used Dog Watch for our invisible fencing. 352-351-3642. Great guys. I wasn't a fan at all of invisible fencing. We've been pleasantly surprised at how well the fencing works.
We carefully trained our dogs for two weeks to react to the beep which warns them not to go near the property line. Now our dogs react to the beep and don't go near the invisible fence line. But I will emphasize that we always supervise our dogs when they are in our yard. And we clean up after them several times a day.

I've heard that your allowed (?) to have a hedge of no higher than 48" and can not be walked through. That's what I plan on doing

We have 2 labs and used Bryan Roulette from citrus county area, found him with Google. He did our large yard for under $1000. He was great and we love our invisible fence.
