Default Restaurant patios that are dog friendly

I know this was discussed in a thread a couple of years ago, but can anyone update me on which restaurants (patio) are dog friendly around LSL and SS?

I have seen people at Too Jay's, SS, with their dog outside the fenced patio. At the east end, there is space for the dog. One lady even brings a BIG doggie pillow.

Glad this subject came up. If i posted it no one would believe me
Just few weeks ago my better 1/2 and I were at the Spanish Springs Town Square enjoying the evening and around 7 pm we decided it was time for dinner. We agreed on Too J's just off the Square we could sit outside and still listen to the music. Just as we crossed the street there was couple seated outside.I couldn't believe my eyes their dog was on the table they had it's toys spread across the table yes they had a blanket need less to say we turned around and left.
My only thoughts were what if a health inspector was passing by are pet owner clue less

Toojay's in LSL allows them in the front, no table service but you can get takeout.

Sonny's LSL, I don't know if they still do, but in the past they allowed it in front.

I've seen dogs at Johnny Rockets lsl.

[QUOTE=BettyCrocked;695205]What's even more pathetic is that they make a special trip to the pet section of this site just to be hateful. [QUOTE]

This post is appearing under general discussion not the pet section only.

This is information from a previous thread recently on which this subject was pretty much beat to death. The health code has numerous requirements for the establishment. There is only one that holds the required permit:

http://www.myfloridalicense.com/dbpr...-faq-dogs.html

Permits for dogs on outdoor patios. Presently, Cody’s Road House in Lake Sumter Landings in The Villages is the only restaurant in Sumter County permitted under Section 13-735 of the Land Development Code. If you have visited Cody’s Road House and believe they are not complying with the requirements of their permit, please also let me know and I will assign an inspector to review their compliance.

If you have any additional questions, please contact me.

This only pertains to Sumter County, not Lake County where Spanish Springs is located. If posters have a problem with this law, they should contact their state legislator who passed the law allowing pets in restaurants, who welcome them, a few years ago.

I definitely think that TV is dog friendly. Many places we have lived or traveled would not allow dogs (except service dogs) anywhere close to a restaurant including their outside eating areas. LSL, SS and PS allow dogs in most areas except in the restaurants. We don't have a dog but have in the past. We never took our dogs to a downtown area like the TV Squares. That was just our choice. but we took them on lots of walks and places less crowded and left them in air cond. when it was 85-90 degrees outside. Overall, I think that 98% of Dog Owners and TV residents are respectful and co-exist very well in dog friendly TV. The other 2% probably just don't like dogs. Some are afraid of dogs---maybe they have been attack and some may be allergic. Dog owners should respect the rights of "others" and the "others" should respect the rights of dog owners.

I love dogs and have never commented on these threads because I'm a "dog hater". I just don't like it at all when dog owners put dogs first, and people second. People want and need more food sanitation and safety where they eat than dogs do. Here is an example I had never thought about, and now that I saw it, it's hard to forget....

About 6 weeks ago, I was at the stop light at Lake Sumter Landing in front of City Fire, headed southbound at about 8:45pm. As I waited at the light, I noticed a couple with their 2 dogs sitting on the patio at Johnny Rockets. Their dogs were no problem, just lying at the owners' feet under the table. Well, then a really scary thing happened out of the blue. Another couple came along walking in front of the patio with their huge dog, and in a split second, the huge dog went wild and attacked the dogs under the table....he shot under the railing and went after those 2 peaceful ones like he was going to tear them apart.

And yes, I looked for service dog vests etc., and there were none on any of the three.

To me, a true dog fight is a terrifying thing out in the open, much less when the small ones being attacked were lying under a table and when the owners were seated and could not get up and react fast enough with that huge dog attacking theirs. The owners managed to drag him away as he acted like a frothing beast, and they looked like this was all "no problem".

I just don't think it is necessary to have animals in restaurants unless it is a properly credentialed service dog. Many dogs, no matter how well trained, are unpredictable when it comes to other animals they encounter in a new place.

So let the fire bombs begin. I don't care. This is what I saw.

I agree. I like animals, but there are some places they do not belong.

I don't believe Dogs should be allowed anywhere in Restaurants or their Patios.

Thanks this is refreshing from what I have been reading. My spouse and I feel this is the place for us until we read some of the postings in regards to dogs. We would never take our dog to a restaurant or even to one of the town squares. However they do like to get out and run and play where permitted. Maybe TV should designate one or two villages for the dog haters and not allow dogs in these villages. Seems like an easy remedy to me.

Please review this website and note it is Florida State Law..which sets forth the minimum requirements that must be met.
