Default Shelter Needs Help After Hurricane

I have edited and added more to the bottom of this post which includes a couple of links...one to their Amazon Wish List and one to their website. By the way, I am familiar with this shelter, as one of my dogs came from there. Nice people and nicely kept kennel.

Copied below is from South Lake Animal League's Facebook page. But here is the link to their location and contact info. on their website Contact – The Animal League.

SHELTER HELP NEEDED!!
Hurricane Irma aftermath:
We have no power which means NO WATER!
Some of our staff evacuated so we are short handed.

We have 100s of animals to care for.
Generator to run well pump is not keeping up well and no water to critical areas of campus.

Ways to help:

- foster a dog
- bring gallon water, towels, paper towels, bleach, pedigree dog and puppy food
-help us do laundry at a laundry mat if you can find one with power
- help us clean kennels
- help us repair outside runs
- help with debris clean up
- DONATE A BIGGER GENERATOR
- DONATE TO HELP US PLEASE!!
The Animal League – Rescuing animals since 1988

Thank you!!

EDITED - ADDED - They have their year long Amazon Wish List, too, that contains items they are needing. If anyone wants to just order something from Amazon and have it shipped directly to the shelter. Amazon.com It takes longer to get to them, but still they would need the supplies. Here is what they say they need.....laundry detergent, towels, paper towels, bleach, Pedigree dog and puppy food and a bigger generator. Monetary donations can be made on their website. Hurricane Irma Got Us – The Animal League

Also, if anyone wants to go help them physically.....I would contact them first and see if they still need more help. They said they needed help by helping them do laundry at a laundromat if you can find one with power. Help clean kennels. Help repair outside dog runs. Bring trash bags and assist with debris clean up on their campus. And if you can foster dogs.

If you prefer to make a monetary donation, you can do so on their website. Hurricane Irma Got Us – The Animal League or mail to:

I am not familiar with the shelter, but their address is on Baptist Island Road in Groveland with a thrift shop in Clermont. If anyone is familiar with them, please post....I would like to help them out, but want to be sure my $$$ is going to a reputable animal care group.

One of my dogs came from this shelter. Really nice place and nice people. They carry a Groveland address. Out in the country from Leesburg approx 13 miles.

If anyone is going out there, I would be happy to donate whatever I can. Or I could even go with you to help.
