Some of you have seen my posts regarding South Lake Animal League (aka The Animal League). I adopted one of my dogs from them. I just wanted to mention some of their good works. This past year they took in over 1,000 cats and dogs. They have an education program, they help the needy with pet food, they have a lower cost veterinary clinic in Leesburg (near the Mall), they are involved in PPOM, a national program designed to help nonprofit hospices keep patients and their pets together during the end-of-life journey (see their page for details), and have a pet bequest program.
