Default Sumter SPCA in DIRE NEED of food donations!

Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County, Inc.
Our Pet Food Pantry is in Dire Need of Donations!
Low income pet owners in Sumter may not have the necessary monthly allotment of pet food, specifically dry dog food, this summer as our Humane Society/SPCA’s pantry is fast approaching depletion.
“We ask that our community send what it can afford to help the Society continue its mission of eliminating animal suffering throughout Florida’s harsh su...mmer months. We have seen a steady flow of area residents requesting pet food as they face more economic challenges” commented Chairman Claudia Labbe’. “Funding for our spay/neuter vouchers and vaccinations have also nearly run out. The Society’s services are being strained continuously to meet the rising needs in these trying times. The most efficient way to help is with a monetary donation as it takes no physical effort to transport it, no storage space required and pet food is then purchased as needed to maintain its optimum freshness.”
For those who kindly wish to purchase pet food, Society volunteers ask them to bring their donations of dry dog food to area drop-off locations such as PAWS For a Moment Pet Supply, Buffalo Ridge Animal Hospital, Whole Earth Pet Supply, PAWS Animal Hospital and also High Five Frozen Yogurt, all in The Villages. In Wildwood, donations can be dropped off at Sparr Building and Farm Supply and Bone Crazy Dog Grooming while residents in the southern end of Sumter can bring their donations to Willy Nilly Feed and Pet Supply in Bushnell and at the HS/SPCA office in Lake Panasoffkee on CR 529A (one road East of the SC Landfill) Monday-Friday between 10am-2pm. Monetary donations can be earmarked “pet food” and either mailed to the Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County, Inc., PO Box 67, Lake Panasoffkee, FL 33538 or easily and securely submitted on their website Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County, Inc. via Paypal. Contact Claudia Labbe at 352-793-9117 on how you can help with a local pet food drive this summer and help end animal suffering in our community.

Thanks for the information.

I rescued my two cats too! Not from the humane society but from my vet where they were being fostered! They both were abandoned, 7 years apart, on the side of the road at very young ages. How can anyone be so thoughtless! But their loss was my gain! They are the love of my life! Although, a friend calls my little one a "tornado with 4 legs"!

Our vet also rescued a beautiful Ragdoll that the owner no longer wanted because she did not get along with her other cat. Since he would not put down a healthy animal, Sabrina is now his office cat, assisting him in his daily pet saving activities.
