Default Pet Boarding

Can anyone recommend a really GOOD, safe and loving place to board pets? Going away in Dec… and have 2 small dogs (a peek and a pug) that need to be boarded. Would want references!

Don't know about dogs, but we board our 2 cats at The Villages Pet Spa on Rolling Acres Road. Our cats do well and we believe they are well cared for. Call them and arrange for a visit of the facility. Don't have the number right off hand. I am sure they are in the phone book. Good luck.

If you don't mind the drive (Rockledge, FL), Barkingham Palace has a wonderful clean facility, with camera-equipped private rooms so you can watch your pet on their website.

We use Buffalo Ridge Animal Hospital off 466. Use them as my Vet and boarding so if there is a problem she will be taken care of. They are open 24/7 for emergencies.

We have always used All about Cats and Dogs near Ocala and can also recommend Bedtime Tails off of 301. Both excellent places and people.

Almost Home Luxury Pet Hotel in Summerfield is another place. We have boarded our dog there on 3 occasions now, and she does well, comes home happy.

Try calling Away From Home ~ Joan Cain 352-391-2323. Her sitters keep your dogs and ONLY your dogs, in their home. Good way to enjoy your Holiday - with Peace of mind. Better get busy & make reservations somewhere....its a little late as most sitters-kennels book well in advance.

I highly recommend Best Friends Pet Sitting. Barbara Lusito 352-751-1211 cares for one dog at a time (two buddies from the same home is OK). She is loving and responsible. I've never left my dog in a kennel, too many caged dogs and pandemonium. Living in someone's home who's sole responsibility is caring for my dog is a must for me.

We are currently at The Villages doing a two month house/pet sit for two beautiful dogs. We’re writing not to have you consider us, but rather to introduce you to the concept.

Pet owners benefit by not having to kennel/board their pets and their home is safer since it’s lived in while they are on vacation/holiday. The pets get to stay in their own environment and we follow each homeowner’s specific requirements regarding exercise, feeding, etc.

You join the network, post your need (including beautiful Villages location, dates, etc.). Given you are needing someone in December, you will likely find many qualified sitters; many from around the world.

We have done free in-home pet and house sitting from 2 weeks to 3 ˝ months in the U.S., Spain, Australia, New Zealand, The Caribbean, Scotland and London. The upside to us is we get to travel the world without paying for hotels or lodging. The upside for the pet owner is they get to travel stress free knowing their much loved pet(s) is being cared for in the comfort of their own home.

Although you are inviting a “stranger” into your home, there are many safeguards in this system. Those posting an upcoming sit do not provide their name or address. The connection between the two parties (the homeowner and the pet sitter) is confidential, until the two parties agree to share information. The house/pet sitters include references on their profile.

We will send you a Private Message with a website which explains more about how it works since we can’t include a URL on TOTV.
I agree. We use a service like this and have never had a problem.

We've used Bedtime Tails Luxury Hotel since moving here last September. When our two dogs come home happy and tired from having so much fun, we're happy! Cathy is the owner and very good with the dogs and cats. I'm extremely picky when it comes to our fur-babies and I totally trust Cathy and her staff. I love going on vacation with total confidence and not having to worry about our 2 crazy boys! Bedtime Tails is located in Summerfield off 301. Love this place!
