How sad that people couldn't see how much effort the officers had put into making sure the hydrant was protected from dogs. Even sadder that the park department caved in to these folks rather than simply explaining that it was on a pedestal and surrounded by dog-unfriendly plants. It is a beautiful hydrant and, I think, Hondo would have been quite proud of it. Obviously, his handler was.
