Funny: I always wanted to name a dog “Fido”. I have never actually met a dog named “Fido”. I had dogs named: Mitzi, Otto and Lancer.

Hannah, Delaney, Dolly, Duffy, Obi Wan, the Mighty Millie, Lambaugh, and Hadley are some of the other names of pooches I have encountered here in the Villages area since June 2005.

That is a nice name. I recall Gerry, Frankie, Hudson, many Murphys, Finnegan, Brutus, and a few bogies. Bogey either for Humphrey Bogart or the golf score. Maybe some below Par as well came up at some point. Toby, Tony, and Moby too. And a few Elsies.

Just remembered Barracuda. She called him "Cuda".
Cannot remember if it was a dog or its owner that had the name Thelma but do recall a dog named Boo Radley. Heart - Barracuda (1977) - YouTube |

We once had three cats named Tosca, Mario and Scarpia. I suggested naming the next one Little Shepherd Boy, but Honey thought that was just too much.

And I watched a diabetic cat for long periods of time which needed shots of insulin. Her owner named her Mephistopheles but usually just called this 22 pound Maine Coon cat Butt-Head. |
