Mr. Bright and I went to LSL this evening. When walking to our cart to return home, I looked and saw a familiar face. It was Johnny!

Not only was this chance meeting a wonderful surprise but an opportunity to meet and get to know not only Johnny but his wife Barbara, too.

Let me assure you that both of these TOTVers are the most gracious, friendliest, nicest people of all time. I'm looking forward to getting together with them again.

Silly Bright, I'm not talking about Carmen. I'm talking about a ghost for Donna's ghost night.
Her name is Caramelhelene. She walks from the square to Barnes and Noble then returns to the lighthouse to await her lover William Fourtrout. She was jilted by Will F Eightbass because he fell in love with an 48 year old Jezabel named Sunny Fish and hightailed it for Spanish Springs and beyond.

Sam, I never knew anything about Caramelhelene. :dontknow: There is so much intrigue that has taken place here. When I go out at night I shall keep my eyes and ears open. You never know who is lurking in the shadows of TV. ;D I have been told Only the Shadow Knows. :yikes:

I guess I live in the land of the Duke of Barracudas and Prince Piranhas. Are there any Sharks around here also? 8)

I apologize for using the "s" word. I honestly thought it was okay if I used an asterick.

I was slapped by Tony:

quote: Bright,

Please refrain from scatological references in post.

Thank you.

I heartfully apologize.

Scatology is not a word I use every day. I had a reporter in my newspaper editor days that drew heavily on scatology. I had to search for a word to describe it so I could holler at him with some civility.

I had coffee with him a couple weeks ago, and he still is hung up on it. I had to frown vigorously at him over coffee.

This sounds like one of Boomer's scripts she wrote for our first pet and first street we lived on. Her gifted imagination for drama is hilarious and amazing; that was such fun....

Hi Girls,

I looked in here a while ago and saw that you were talking about my soap, "I'm Rusty Eden." So I went back and found it and read it from the top. And I found myself laughing.

Now, that's really not ego talking, even though I wrote the thing. What was making me laugh was that when I put all of you in my soap, I did not really know you. And now, even though we have never seen each other, for some reason I feel like I do sort of know you. And it is fun to see you in your parts.

Brightspot was the heroine. Much of the plot revolved around her as Cinderella Central. Oh Sam, you were Rusty Queen! Muncle was Skippy Madison. Donna was Sheba. My favorite character was Barb1191 who was Skuppy the bartender. I remember saying that I could relate because Skuppy was always surrounded by characters, too. Barefoot is in it and lots of others of us.

Most of the names in my soap from last winter are still here with us. At the end, I was trying to pawn the job off, but I did not get any takers. Wow. It was a long cold winter. And I just started to write and write and write. It went on for a couple of weeks, at least. Later it got bumped, not by me. But I never really got my groove back.

So anyway, if you are bored, really bored, and you would like a rerun, at the risk of appearing an egotist, I will find it again and deliver it to you all.

Thanks for the kind words. I really do not know why I write this stuff. But I can't seem to help it.

You have an amazing writing talent for which we all enjoy so and envy. Doubt that anyone would take over the task (or pleasure) as you have no idea, obviously, how talented you are and unfortunately, not everyone has that ability to conjure up the imagination you've been blessed with and the ability to express it so well.

General Hospital sure could use your expertise as their storylines have been so dull and boring lately. LOL

Hope you will consider a repeat performance one day. ....Hugs, barb

Did any of you look and Handies post on the spinning woman? that was pretty interesting. It was indeed a right brain/left brain exercise. I posted something I found on the net about it.
It was curious to me that in the AM my right brain was at work and in the PM it was the opposite. I wonder how that would translate to brains in the work place in terms of productivity. I find that fascinating.

Sam, Gracie want to talk to you about Koi.
For some reason, :dontknow: she is hijacking my Canadian luncheon thread with talk of fish. Not sure of the connection ... perhaps she is meaning to offer up her Koi as an appetizer for our Canadian luncheon.

samhass
06-26-2008, 02:51 PM
Bare, that is sheer sacrilege. These are koi. They are special. The baby koi I have now are alive because of me. Their Mom came in from Japan. I had a good idea of when she would spawn so I built a small rock walled pool in the pond. When she spawned and I saw a big male cover the eggs, I swooped in and gathered (some of) the eggs before they became fish food. I fed them boiled egg yolk after they hatched. We bonded. Koi are very social fish. They will eat from your hand. When they see you approach they come swimming up. They know a handout is at hand!
My pond is in Pa. I won't have one here. I don't wish to spend that much time on upkeep anymore.

Sam this reminded me of my beloved black and tan cocker spaniel, Bubba Lou Cole. When Bouvier (my 16 yr old blind and deaf spaniel) gave birth every other pup was breach. Pup #1 was Bubba. He was still born. I ran around the house screaming and praying for help. Instinctly I covered his whole snout with my mouth and sucked! 2 times and Bubba Lou was born! Bouv had 7 pups. 4 breach. PS I have a surprise for you! I sketched your view from the avatar. I left a tree out as it would have been unbalanced and would loose its flow. 1 too many happy trees per Bob Ross!! LOL

Thanks Johnny, those barefeet are so cute. The little feet cheered me up and I needed it today.

Speaking of house woes, this story should make you feel better. My prospective purchasers just did a building inspection and the inspector found mold in the attic. This is regarded as an extremely serious, toxic problem. The "mold busters" informed me today it can cost as much as $12,000 to remedy a large attic.

And I don't even have the incentive of full-time residence in TV to motivate me. I'll still be exiled to Canada six months a year.

Oh, I miss TV and everyone soooooooooooo much. :'(

JohnnyM
07-08-2008, 01:59 AM
Barefoot I am so sorry for your dilemma. We are, as a matter of fact, having our buyers doing their private inspection tomorrow at 3:30pm. Our CO inspection is scheduled for July 15th and our closing for July 21st. The kicker is we still can not get a letter from the township and builder which this whole deal is contingent upon. Still in God's hands. Hope you find a way out of your problem. Make sure to get a few estimates from reliable resources, although I am sure Rick is on it. Prayers going out, Johnny

The church across the street from our church was flooded when they had a new roof put on. The roofers removed the old roof and then the heavens opened up and poured rain for days -- and we never get rain like that in Utah! It was so sad. They had just installed a new floor in their basketball court and new carpeting in their sanctuary. The water was all down inside the walls, too.

Their insurance company had them run right out and rent ozone generators for the building to help prevent mold. Insurance comanies rarely pay for anything that they think is "experimental," so maybe the ozone generators really do work?
(PS: They took the insurance money and are building a new church out in the suburbs)

Three more days and my husband and I will no longer hear that sweet little voice saying"Grammy...Grammy..Grammy.." or "Granddad" for much of the day. It has been a wonderful three weeks but Gram is ready to go out and play with all the big people again.
It's funny, but as dear and good as grands can be, it is sort of tiring keeping them entertained for three weeks. As I write this, I know that three weeks after she has left, I will feel bereft. I will miss her so much. I will finally get over it and then I'll head north to see her and repeat the cycle. The love you feel for a grandchild never ceases to amaze me . It is a wonderful thing. You look into their faces and see expressions that their parent made as a child. It takes you back in time. I love being a "Gram".

I wonder what would happen if everyone is TV put up the money for a wind farm and we had our own electric co-op. We sure seem to get plenty of wind. It would be interesting to explore how much power we would need, what we needed to produce it, historical wind data, how much it would cost, cost per home, etc. Anyone have any thoughts? I know there are lots of engineers out there.

:agree: with all of you. However, I think we should be promoting not only wind power but solar power, too.

Not sure if many of you are familiar with Germany and its energy policy. Read this Wikipedia article...very interesting. If Germany can do it, why can't we? Makes you wonder, doesn't it, about our government?

Good idea, Sam. I just returned from a weekend in Palm Springs. They have hundreds of the wind turbines in the windiest parts of the desert area just below the mountains in the foothills. Don't know how they work but they sure are incredible to see. I've often wanted to interview some of the engineers in their power company to find out how beneficial they are to the desert cities. Never have, and now that I'm moving to Florida, doubt I ever will.

Here's a link showing a picture of some of the turbines. This picture is a few years old and there are many, many more than this now.

And Television Watchers? Can Television Watchers chime in?
Seriously, has anyone seen "Living with Ed"? < http://www.livingwithed.net/ > I love that show!

Short description: The show has some great ideas that "regular" people can do to save energy and make energy. Ed Begley is married to Rochelle and lives down the street from Bill Nye (the Science Guy). Ed & Bill are always competing to see who can come up with the best "green" additions to their houses. For example, Ed rides a bike to make energy to power his toaster. Bill designed a mop to dust the solar panels on his roof. Meanwhile, Rochelle (the lovely wife) hates anything that doesn't look good, so there's some tension that keeps the show interesting.

Back to the topic: :cop: Ed installed a small wind turbine on his house. It's compact and looks sort of like a can on a stick. It doesn't have blades, like the large windmills do, and it seemed to be very quiet. Maybe the architectural committee would approve the use of individual small wind turbines? :dontknow:

Sam,

This whole wind thing interests me a lot. GE is into it. Maybe it could help the stock, too. But more importantly, something, somebody has to guide our beloved nation through this. We have to get out of the think tanks and into reality. Soon. Really soon.

I googled around and found this little video just now. I just may have to add ol' T. Boone to that list of men I shamelessly love from afar.

You know, this discussion might need its own thread. I looked around a little and did not see one here yet. But I may have missed it. (I am trying not to look for too long at TOTV. ;D)

Anyway, Here's T. Boone. . .

(And feel free to tote this little video into a different thread titled specifically if anybody wants to.)

Interesting. Thanks, Sam.

I'm missing an arm and a leg after my shopping spree today. I finally found the perfect quilt for one of my beds after looking all summer. It was like that wedding dress I was looking for a while back....cost didn't matter....cause when the right one hit me I would buy it regardless of whether it broke the bank or not. I wasn't as lucky this time...the quilt didn't cost only $12.99 like the dress. But if you average the two...oh well, I can manage with only one arm and leg.

Next, I'm flying to Kansas Friday with 3 little boys ages 2, 3, and 4. I made goodie bags for each one with special toys and treats to surprise them during the flight. Well, the truth be known, it's to keep them occupied, quiet, and in their seats!

Also found a flat based, open bird feeder so my visiting Mourning Doves can finally perch and enjoy the seed. I'd been sprinkling it on the ground but since a little millet garden has sprouted I decided I'd better find a feeder that would accommodate them.

Finally, I bought a lawn sprayer and filled it with white vinegar. Weeds...look out cause here I come! Millet garden...goodbye.

It was a good day.

We should all be kids and be fortunate enough to have Bright make us a "goody bag". She fills them with the neatest things. Every item is special and purchased with a single person in mind. My granddaughter thinks Mrs Bright is a Goddess. Plus, she teaches third grade, so she is extra cool. I was told to hug Mrs Bright goodbye for her. So Bright, put your arms around yourself and hug hard. That's from Miss M. Hug yourself again. That's from me.

Just returned from a family reunion in Kansas over the weekend. There were close to 70 of us there. It was a whirlwind weekend flying from Florida to Kansas on Friday and returning today (Sunday).

What was so wonderful was my 3 toddler grandsons getting to know each other better. Can you imagine how wild a 2, 3, and 4 year old were for 2 days? They had adjoining rooms and could run between the two. And they did...nonstop!

Bubba (Grandpa) and I (Tamma) watched them in the hotel convention center lobby for hours while their mommies and daddies had time for themselves. Those little boys have more energy than I ever had. They ran up and down the corridor, hid under tableclothed tables thinking we thought they were lost, and pretended they were the Incredible Hulk.

Swimming with them was hilarious. The oldest would have nothing to do with jumping in the big pool, but the two youngest were daredevils. All 3 loved to get Tamma soaking wet and laughed with joy when her glasses were so wet she couldn't see. Those stinkers!

It was a great weekend but I'm glad it's over.

I'm exhausted!

Hi all. We are still here in N.J. We just re-listed the house and are finally getting the State, the Township and the builder to get things done. After we lost our second contract things began to happen. Unfortunately sales have really slowed. We think we will come down in October and stay until March. We will leave the key with the realtor and see what happens. I (we) can't wait much longer to be in TV. This is worse than "waterboarding". I'm happy to see (read) everyone is okay and some lucky folks are are getting their chance to start their new life in TV. So sorry Johnny the deal flopped. Good move to come down during the winter. Have you given any thought to renting your NJ home? Teachers often are looking for rentals for the school terms. We did that once when we had a home that wasn't selling as quickly as we expected and we bought another home and carried two mortgages which was quite a burden. This was many years ago, however, it still was tough to keep two homes going. It so happened that a neighbor who was transferred (in military) returned to our neighborhood and needed a short-term rental; came to us and asked if we would consider same. We took a six month lease with them which really helped until the house sold, which it did just in time for our tenants to leave. We lucked out, huh?

If you do a short-term rental, would advise you close the deal with a stringent lease and deposit, for your protection.

Hope things work out for you soon. I recently sold a beautiful condo in NH and dropped the selling price $40K less than the selling price, to get a quick sale. It sold within the week. That was just at the start of this RE slump. Timing is everything, huh?

Everyone in TOTV is rooting for you. We hope to return to TV sometime in the Fall and look forward to seeing you there.

Best of luck to you.....Barb

Johnny and Barb - what a shame that it happened again. You are truly on a roller coaster with this sale. We are still here in NJ too with only one offer (way too low) and a lease to buy that wasn't a good deal according to our attorney - so here we sit. There must be a plan for us that we aren't having any luck. I hope by the winter we are able to join you in TV. Good luck.

I went out to lunch today with a neighbor who lives 2 doors down from me. I would see her walk her dog every day and we would greet each other politely. It wasn't until earlier this summer when I really took time to chat with her and found her delightful. She tailored the bargain dress I found for an upcoming wedding I'll be attending. Anyway, I took her to lunch and had not only an enjoyable burger (YUM) but wonderful conversation.

Well said, Sam.

I was one of the early members of TOTV. In those first months, Jan (Talk Host, Admin) was the most prolific poster, often initiating controversial topics just to get people talking. Seems like many days there were no more than 10-20 posts...only took 5 minutes to digest a day's worth of posts. Now, the volume, breadth, quality, and variety of topics, posts and yes, personalities, is incredible. Embrace and appreciate the value you get from the posts you enjoy and don't let the persons or topics you disagree with get your goat .... that's my motto.

TOTV is populated by a great bunch of people and getting better all the time.

Sam....Sign up for the line-dancing classes at Savannah or wherever they advertise them in TV now. Not necessarily the Learning Ctr where the cost is so much more. The classes held at the club houses are such fun and made up of a bunch of great sports who are not at all intimidating if you end up in the opposite direction of the rest of the class.

When I started, there were fewer choices of times to attend. I recall my neighbor and I would attend the 8:30 AM (yikes!! zzzzz) class at the Savannah. I often thought that how could I ever conceive this moment as becoming a reality? Line dancing at 8:30 AM, NEVER!! Wrong!! They now have afternoon and evening classes, I believe, and don't get discouraged if, at first, you find it awkward. Go with the determination to stick with it and guaranteed you will enjoy the jovial crowd.

Hyacinth Bucket

Sam I thought I had the two left feet I guess I have the two right feet, :dontknow: then to add to my woes I get my left and right mixed up and the final problem is I can not recall more than the first 4 or so steps.

So you can picture me in a line dance with two right feet, going the wrong way and then getting hopelessly lost after the fourth step. What I do in situations like that is 1rnfl 1rnfl 1rnfl 1rnfl laughing at myself.

I give all of you permission to 1rnfl 1rnfl 1rnfl 1rnfl with me.

We did take ballroom dancing and fortunately Sid knows not only his left from his right but has one of each and remembers all the steps. All I have to do is follow. What a man he is.

Sammy, that was a beautiful post about the contribution "frequent posters" make to TOTV. You are a very special person and dear to many hearts. Life would be very dull without the group of TOTV addicts. 024

Sammy, I have a request since you started this topic. I wouldn't even have thought of this, except I am currently on dial-up internet service here in the boonies at a cottage in Canada. And perhaps there are others in the same boat. There have been 907 posts on this thread and it takes forever to access threads like this that have had many replies. Could you possibly start a Chatters Talk, Part 2, so we can all still chatter away, but it will be far easier for those of us on dial-up to access. Thanks so much!

Beautiful post about the TOTV'ers Sammie. And let me personally thank you for calling me a horse! :o lovehorse

YES! I love all (well most) of the TOTV'ers. When I worked in advertising I used to love being part of the creative team. I used to think I'll never find those kind of creative, funny, spicy, brilliant, irreverent, quick-minded people again. And for years, I didn't.

I found them here. On TOTV. And add to that list warm-hearted and caring. (Advertising is not known for these two attributes)

((((((((((((group hug))))))))))

And to the admins. I don't do this often. So get ready. For all you do . . . this one's for you! purrrrrrrrrrrrr :-*

Chels, you are a hoot!!
Johnny and Barb, we rented out our Mallory house and the renters were all wonderful. All of them were immaculate. One even washed the windows. How wonderful is that??? We have been able to meet some of the nicest people through renting out that property. A lovely British couple are in the house now and they are delightful. You can be really picky about your renters. Let them know up front that you expect them to keep it immaculate. When both parties understand each other, mistakes become less frequent. The couples that rented from us were great and most will be returning to the home this year. The others bought a home here in TV.

Thanks Sam. We decided to wait one year before any decisions about renting. If we don't sell by September we will stay in TV from October through who knows when. We will leave the key with our realtor. During our last stay in June we bought all new furniture at Lifestyles (they are great) so we can live in Hadley without much else. I will get us there one way or another!

Sam,
We are fixing up our patio villa to rent, hopefully starting by Dec. 1.
Maybe you can give me some tips. I REALLY need em....
I'm looking forward to this rental process tho and also hope to meet some nice people...

Also loved your post about frequent posters.
I feel like I know most of the frequent posters, tho I've never met most of them..

And JohnnyM,,,
I'll be sending positive thoughts your way that the third time will be charm!
Our NC house is supposed to close on Mon., but I am afraid to count my chickens before they hatch. So will wait til the $ is in my hand before I spend it.
I CAN"T IMAGINE the stress you guys must be going thru...
But I believe when something doesn't happen when and how I want it to, there's a reason.
And it always works out for the best. And I believe it will for you guys too...

Mint I thank you and I can also say that something did happen to keep us here. God knew what he was doing. We just couldn't understand why God gave us the ability and desire to buy in March but not allow us to move there since. We lost two contracts it seems for a very good reason. One day I hope I can explain. Also on the plus side the township came last week and completed all repairs required by the State and tomorrow is our final inspection. Things are coming together again. Like I was telling Sam, we are still coming in October, either way....we wish you all the luck on Monday for your closing!

Hi Johnny and Barbara,

You two have certainly been through a lot just to be with all of us, believe me it is definitely worth it.

I believe things do not happen in our time but in God's time - and one of my favorite sayings is - God grant me patience and :edit: it I want it now.

That saying fits me to a "T", I am not known to have patience when I want something.

Wish you the best. I imagine since you had buyers twice getting another buyer hopefully will be a matter of time.

Sending you and F16, Mik and everyone else prayers to sell your homes quickly.

Johnny, one of my meditations is "Let go, and let God". I've often found in life that the Universe has plans that I don't understand. But, eventually it is astonishing to see how the master plan unfolds as it should.

Good luck to everyone who is trying to sell. It will happen, keep the faith.

Change of subject. You know we all think we are pretty smart. We chose TV. Try your hand at this.

1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?

Stop and think about it.

The correct answer is: Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe, and close the door. This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way.

2 How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?

Did you say, Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant, and close the refrigerator?

Wrong Answer.

Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant and close the door. This tests your ability to think through the repercussions of your previous actions.

3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All the animals
attend .... Except one. Which animal does not attend?

Correct Answer : The Elephant. The elephant is in the refrigerator. Didn't you just put him in there? This tests your memory. Okay, even if you did not answer the first three questions correctly, you still have one more chance to show your true abilities.

4. There is a river you must cross but it is used by crocodiles, and
you do not have a boat. How do you manage it?

Correct Answer: You jump into the river and swim across. Have you not been listening? All the crocodiles are attending the Animal Meeting. This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.

According to Anderson Consulting Worldwide, around 90% of the
professionals they tested got all questions wrong, but many preschoolers got several correct answers. Anderson Consulting

says this conclusively disproves the theory that most professionals have the brains of a four-year-old.

Perhaps this idea would serve you well...

Warmth and friendship are hallmarks of the holiday season. This year, welcome your guests with a traditional Italian winter aperitivo, or before-dinner cocktail, of warm wine flavored with a variety of nuts, dried fruits and spices. Or, if you prefer, serve this as an after-dinner beverage with Italian Christmas cookies or panatone, sweet Italian bread.

For red, consider a Chianti, Barbera or Cabernet:

• 24 ounces red wine
• 2 medium plums, quartered and
thinly sliced
• 1/2 pint whole blackberries
• 1/2 teaspoon of fresh nutmeg or 1/8 teaspoon jarred
• 1/4 cup sugar

Combine first three ingredients in 2 quart saucepan. Heat at a steady simmer for 5 minutes, but do not boil. Add cloves, nutmeg and sugar and stir to dissolve. Simmer for 5 more minutes. Turn off heat and allow to steep, or sit, for 10 minutes, to let the flavors infuse the wine.
• 24 ounces red wine
• About 8 chestnuts, cooked and peeled (2 per person)
• 3 fresh, whole cinnamon sticks
• 1/4 teaspoon fresh nutmeg
• 1/8 teaspoon allspice
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 2 teaspoons cognac or Sicilian brandy, optional

Combine first five ingredients in 2 quart saucepan. Heat at a steady simmer for 5 minutes, but do not boil. Add sugar and stir to dissolve. Simmer for 5 more minutes. Turn off heat and allow to steep, or sit, for 10 minutes, to let the flavors infuse the wine. Add up to another 1/4 cup of sugar based on preference, and cognac or brandy, as desired.

For white, Chardonnay is a good choice:

• 1/4 cup whole almonds
• 24 ounces Chardonnay
• 1 teaspoon orange peel, freshly grated (careful to avoid white, bitter pith); or 2 teaspoons orange liqueur
• 1 fresh, whole cinnamon stick
• 1/8 cup sugar

Toast almonds in 2 quart saucepan for 1 to 2 minutes or until you smell aromas. Add remaining four ingredients and bring to a steady simmer for 5 minutes, but do not boil. Turn off heat and allow to steep, or sit, for 10 minutes, to let the flavors infuse the wine. Add up to another 1/8 cup of sugar based on preference.
• 1/4 cup whole almonds
• 1/4 cup dried apricots, sliced
• 1/2 vanilla bean
• 24 ounces Chardonnay
• 1/8 cup sugar

Toast almonds and apricots in 2 quart saucepan for 1 to 2 minutes or until you smell aromas. Split vanilla bean down the center and add to pan. Add wine and sugar and bring to a steady simmer for 5 minutes, but do not boil. Turn off heat and allow to steep, or sit, for 10 minutes, to let the flavors infuse the wine. Add up to another 1/8 cup of sugar based on preference.

Use a ladle to pour mixture into wine glasses with sugared rims or garnish with cinnamon sticks, orange peel or freshly ground nutmeg.

“The best part is what’s left at the bottom of the glass,” said Lafata. “The wine-soaked fruit and nuts are a delicious ending.”

Warm or cold it is good.

Will do, Cassie. It's a shame more of you could not make the impromptu lunch. It was fun!

My house is so clean and uncluttered I feel like I am developing OCD. I hope it sells before this becomes a permanent affliction.

Heck no!!!
I hate housework !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honest!

That is one of the reasons why I liked being a Designer so much. I would design it, build it, make it real purty like, take pictures....then get out before someone messed it up. In my mind all those clients still have brand new perfect projects.

When we get there I will volunteer for the Helping Hands concept, but it will not be anything to do with cleaning. Trust me.

I hate to clean!! We were entertaining today....had to show the house.....Sue was golfing all morning (hard life) and I was cleaning.....I hate clutter...I hate cat hair under the coffee table.....I would have gladly gone to brunch while paying someone else to clean it!!!

Hi, I am back on line again. With my magnetic personality I seem to have problems with computers.

I will not have to clean, cook, shop, do laundry, for the next 15 or 18 days starting September 15th.

I am going to be a Mystery Cruiser for :edit: cruise line. We will be sailing from Copenhagen to NY (if they let us disembark there.)

It will be a very hard life I know, sitting back, enjoying new sites and sounds as I do write up site inspections and other reports. ;)

Donna I know what you mean.

I can clutter up a place so fast it is unreal. I think sometimes it is scary how fast I can clutter a decluttered space.

I am at my worse, or perhaps my best, when I start to clean and declutter. Then I bring things from one room to the next and start decluttering that room before I am finished with the first. At the end of the day, and loooooooooooooooooooooooong hours of work I have cluttered every room I have been in.

Remember one can have a cluttered clean home.

If you do a spell check on this post you will see I have invented some new words to the English Language. ::)

Susan, you have my sympathies. It is a lot of work to have your home 100% pristine at all times.

I listed my house in May, and it sold in two weeks! But it was sold conditional on the purchasers selling their home with an escape clause. So it was still available for other purchasers to consider. I swear, it seems like I did nothing but clean house all summer long. Before every showing I made the house look as if no-one lives in it. No small feat with Fireboy, 2 dogs and a cat.

Susan, I've seen pictures of your home and it is a lakefront paradise. Someone is going to fall madly in love with it. It is so unique. Good luck!

Susan, I know your pain. We practically lived in the garage for 4 months until our house sold. I saw more bugs in that :edit: garage then I ever saw here in Florida! Bury St. Joseph and good luck to you. chels

To all of my friends, (who are, thank goodness secure enough in their charms that I don't have to name you all).

Thank you for your sympathy and understanding. We are now living on the pontoon under the lift cover for shelter.

I had to ban Tom from the house because he just doesn't understand that toilet covers must remain down at all times ("I don't care if you have to go..."), that we must walk lightly on the carpeting, so as not to mess up the vacuum pattern...and of course we are not cooking anymore because then we will have to clean the kitchen again!!

Anyway, I felt sorry for him and his hangdog look, so I moved to the boat with him. Not too bad actually. There is a table and chairs and a grill that attaches to the railings. The bathroom is a bit over the edge, but why not, like the fish don't poo???

We have a TV plugged into the lighter outlet, and the lift cover frame makes a great closet and the clothes help to make sleeping cozier at night...they also seem to confuse the mosquitoes.

Not bad, maybe we won't sell the pontoon with the house, maybe we will just float it down the mighty Mississippi through New Orleans and then head due East. Hmmmmm.

Oh, in case you are wondering, the garage is in the process of becoming a huge garage sale, so we can't live there just yet. Hope it is done before the weather turns cold.

I just re-read that last statement...am I really going to sit there and price all that :edit: or is some deserving charity going to get really lucky next week? I will let you know.

And thanks Bare I am glad you liked it. The house will have its own website by Monday, which I have to go write the copy for right now.

Talk to y'all later.

I remember back 41 years ago to Sorority Hell Week at my University when I had to push an egg down the sidewalk with my nose.

That is how I'm feeling after my first week back at school.

I have a boy who talks as if he's outside at recess yelling at his friend across the playground. His voice is deafening in the room and I think I need to buy earplugs to save my hearing.

I have a girl who loves to sit behind boys and scratch their neck. Think that sounds relaxing? Not if the scratching leaves 4 inch gouges in the neck!

I have another girl who wants to do whatever she wants to do whenever she wants to do it. She talks, laughs, gets out of her seat, tries to roam the room, and opens her desk and rummages through her papers making crinkling noises while I'm trying to teach.... doh

I have a boy who loves to throw rocks...especially at the backs of heads... :duck:

I have a girl who thinks everyone's locker is her property. She loves to open the lockers, put trash inside, close them...then blame her act on being an "accident".

I have a girl who never knows how she is getting home...not sure if she is to ride the bus or if her mom is picking her up. The problem is...she never knows until we are lined up ready to go home and there's only minutes to figure it out! (I got this one nipped in the bud with a call to mom...no more games with me!)

THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY and the first week is over!

>:( OH DEAR!!! Don't they know summer is over? I know you will have complete control in no time. My friend in RI had a similar nightmare class and within 2 weeks they knew who the boss was and things got much, much better. That class ended up being her favorite of her past 15 years teaching! Have faith!!
