Default Dead battery symptom

Someone told me if I run the batteries down too far the cart won't slow down and die, but, just stop dead unexpectedly. Anyone know if that is true. I thought I would have some time as if it would be loosing power.

That statement is true on some battery systems but not all. The newer carts do not give much warning and just stop when the gauge gets to the half way point and the process does save the batteries from discharging to a dangerous level. The older carts do slow down as the voltage decreases but than the batteries are in danger of damage. Battery manufacturers recommended avoiding levels of below 50% of charge.
