Jerky Start
2007 electric parcar will sputter as if it's mis firing after it sits for a day or two. After a few seconds it drives normally. Any thoughts Frank?

It sounds like worn brushes in the motor, that usually is the first sign with worn brushes.
You may have a weak connection and light brush spring tension. If it is not corrected that electric sputter may harm your controller. |

Try spaying some "brake cleaner" fluid on the armature a few time and see if it doesn't do a self cure. Your problem might just be a bit of carbon build up particularly if the cart has not been used on a regular basis.

Paul T, please do not give dangerous advice in an area of this forum, this section is designated for the questions to be answered by professional(s).
DO NOT spray anything on a high voltage electrical device unless the batteries are disconnected and the motor is removed from the vehicle. |

Frank, you were right. I pulled the motor out yesterday and found 1 brush completely frozen in the brush holder and another brush a little frozen. I was able to free up the frozen brushes and now it's running fine. Even got another 1 MPH out of it. Man, that motor is heavy! I'll replace the brushes and the brush holder at a later date. Thanks again!

Yes, Walter you saved yourself a big expensive repair by catching that problem in time.
The next time you feel like pulling that 50 lb motor out again we have a nice replacement kit for it that includes the brushes, complete end cap with new bearings ,and new brush springs. Good Work, glad you asked for help. Frank |
