I have a 2011 Yamaha 48 volt ( 8 x 6 v) golf cart. I replaced the batteries 1 year ago. Today we drove 21 miles (10 miles each way and 9 holes of golf) and almost did not make it back home ( battery indicator flashing and down to about 10 mph). I am expecting at least 30 mile range. Have I been misinformed. In reality, what range are people getting on their Yamaha 8 x 6v carts?

With eight six volt batteries you should be able to get at least 40 miles on a charge,
I suspect you have a bad cell in one battery, that short will bring you right down.
Send your charger with your cart when you send it in for repair.
