Street Legal cart conversion?
We bought our sellers' street legal 4-person electric golf cart. We are new to TV and have a couple of questions. Our concern is exceeding the speed limit and the cost of having to register and insure it like a regular motor vehicle. Can they be modified? If so, whom do you recommend? What is the process? Pros and cons of street legal vs not?

If you are in possession of the title and proof of ownership you may sign an affidavit for the DMV that you have had your speed reduced to the legal golf cart speed
The DMV fee is $40.00, you will surrender your tags and title and the will issue a stick on small plate to be mounted to the rear of the cart. You don't mention the cart Mfg in your question however your should go to the respective Dealer for speed adjustments and get a invoice stating the changes. You can call our office for further advice. |

Do not drive if not insured, registered and tagged. If you have an accident or get stopped you will not be happy with the outcome. Once converted to regular golf cart and you get certified by DMV you can purchase a golf cart policy.

Thanks - this is very helpful. When we get there and see the paperwork, we'll go from there.
