Default Verifying Golf Cart Year

I am looking at purchasing refurbished Golf Cart, the dealer says it is a 2012 Club Car Precedent, I know the Serial number with the year is on a label under the dash, but how can I be sure that a newer body has not been bolted to an older chasis, is there a place on chasis that also contains the year of the Club Car. I am a little suspicious because this golf cart has a 6 8 volt configuration versus the 4 12 volt config my present 2005 club car has. I would appreciate any enlightenment on this issue.

The cassis after 2007 have the 6-8 volt design battery compartment as standard allowing
4-12 volt or 6-8 volts.
The serial number is also stamped on the differential and should match the under dash number.
When we build a reman cart those numbers must match or I do not buy it for our customers.
