Default Leaving Car To Heirs

I have set up a living trust in Florida in order to avoid probate. Upon my death all of my assets will flow into the living trust to then be dispensed to my children.

How do I accomplish the same means for my car. I still have payments on my car so I do not have possession of the title.

Thanks so much for your help.

You are not going to be able to transfer the title to your car until you satisfy the lien. Even if the car were not subject to a lien, I generally do not advise my clients to fund their automobile into their revocable trusts. However, everyone’s situation is different, and there are some instances where it may make sense from a planning standpoint to do so. If you would like to give me a call, I would be more than happy to spend a few minutes on the phone with you to discuss whether it makes sense for you to fund your automobile into your trust. The number to my office is (352) 365-2262.
