No leaking oil or dripping of any kind, I would have expected to see some. Van is in great condition otherwise. New vans are 6 figures which is too rich for me. I plan to replace motor. I'll look at the tail pipe for signs of smoke residue. Thank you.

I've been working with Ollie's Automotive in Leesburg. They seem knowledgeable and experienced. Anyone have experience with Ollie's?

Unless their big price difference I’d go with 360, but that’s me. Nothing wrong with 318, 360 will have more power and torque.

Quote from goggle AI

primary difference between the LA 318 and 360 Dodge engines lies in their displacement: the 318 has a displacement of 318 cubic inches (5.2L), while the 360 has a displacement of 360 cubic inches (5.9L). This difference in displacement translates to a larger cylinder bore in the 360, resulting in more power and torque, but also potentially less fuel efficiency.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Displacement:
The 318 is a 318 cubic inch (5.2L) engine, while the 360 is a 360 cubic inch (5.9L) engine.
Bore and Stroke:
The 360 has a larger bore, meaning the cylinders are wider, and the stroke (the distance the piston travels) is slightly longer, leading to more displacement.
Power and Torque:
The 360 generally produces more power and torque due to its larger displacement, but this can vary depending on the specific build and tuning.
External Balance:
The 360 is externally balanced, meaning it has a thicker harmonic balancer with a groove cut into it to help with crankshaft vibration control, while the 318 is internally balanced.
Casting Numbers:
The definitive way to differentiate between the two is to look for the casting number on the block, which will clearly indicate the engine's size, according to

But I would discuss it with mechanic about any extra costs if any? it may not be worth it?
