Default AI magic or just overall tampering?

Michael Kay Says Yankees Designed New Bats for Better Hitting

The Yankees made new bats that moved more of the wood into the label so the hardest part of the bat strikes the ball.

They have 8 home runs today.

since I am from MA/Boston born, obviously this is NY corruption/ blatant cheating! They should have to forfeit the game, and the next 25

Hmm did the Patriots forfeit any games?

I would imagine the Yankees reviewed the rules of bats

Mine was not a serious penalty about forfeiting games, . noted by I am boston born, sarcasm hard to see in typing. .

but the amount of leeway in the rules to design a bat and that bats haven't changed like this in 100 years? The advantage will last about a week, and so this year will favor the batters, maybe?

So is baseball trying to create additional viewership before they financially implode, or are the yankees trying everything to win more titles?

just an unexpected change from the past. . .

I thought the main goal is to reduce game time. Are these games longer or shorter?

Are home runs the cause of increased game times? That wasn't my interpretation of the cause of increased game time. The time difference between a batter up and back in the dugout is not much different between a home run and a long pitch count.

note: I sux at baseball and I never liked the sport and never played the sport past age 13, and don't watch the sport

They made some changes in the last few years to shorten the game. They reduced the pitch clock, reduced visits to the mound, added shift bans etc.

I wonder if more home runs due to "AI" bats will increase game time.

trade off for excitement?
breaking records attracts crowds
dominating winning records attracts crowds

not thinking the new bat design has anything to do with game time or speed of game,
thinking its all about winning

Very true and that is why I hate to go to the concession stand after the game has started. Always a line

The bats are legal per MLB. “Major League Baseball confirmed Sunday that the bats do not violate Major League rules or bat supplier regulations. Rule 3.02 states that bats cannot be more than 2.61 inches in diameter and 42 inches in length.”

if you read the article, the bats are legal.
if you read the sarcasm/hyperbole, you would know that everyone in MA/born in Boston still thinks its cheating, solely because the team name ends in -ees
