Just thought I would bring back some memorable names from the past for my fellow Red Sox fans. Don't know why but just got the impulse. Here goes:
Ted Williams Jackie Jensen Jimmy Pearsal Pete Runnels Frank Malzone Carl Yastrezemski Bill Monboquette Sammy White And I guess the list could go on and on and on.

Love those Red Sox!! But the better team won this year, TB Rays deserve a lot of credit, they kept on winning and we kept on losing, that's the bottomline. And Yes, "Wait until next year", all will be forgiven!! We love you guys. Stay tuned to 2012. |

Never got to see Fenway Park though. |

I have not been to the Boston area since around 1967. Never got to see Fenway Park though.[/QUOTE] One of the items on my "bucket list" is to see at least one game in each of the 30 MLB parks. I had the opportunity to visit Fenway in 2005. As Billy Cristal would say, it is "one of the cathedrals of baseball." It was WELL WORTH the trip. The opponent for this afternoon's game is the Hew York Yankees, who were the opponent 100 years ago, as the New York Highlanders. |

We watched the event on MLB TV. Very moving for us old Sox fans to see so many of the greats of yesteryear all on the field at the same time. Ranked right up there with the iconic 1999 All-Star game at Fenway when Ted Williams came out at the end of the opening ceremonies and all the All Stars gathered around him at the mound.

He might have done it already. I think I saw something on Today a couple of weeks ago, but I'm not sure.

Final score at today's 100th Anniversary party:
Yankees 6 Red Sox 2 WP Nova (3-0) Yankees -- 5 HRs, inc ARod How terribly rude and insensitive! They shouldn't be invited back for another 100 yrs.....
