I'm a Red Sox fan but it was indeed a shame to see Jeter go down like that. Even though I hated what he would do to the Sox, I always respected him as one of the greatest players in the game. He also seems like a classy guy as well. I hope he returns to play again.

BTW, the Yankees didn't deserve the win that game. Valverde gave away another game and Leland allowed him to do it. If I were Leland, Valverde's season would be over. He cannot be trusted anymore.

As you can see from our screen name we are Tiger fans. Please don't run us off this board! It was a hard fought battle last night between two great teams. Horrible to see the injury that occurred to Derek Jeter but teams pull together during times like these to overcome unexpected adversities.
We will be future Frogs come this summer and are looking forward to some great sports watching parties and friendly, intense, rivalry with our new Villages neighbors.

A terrible loss last night. Derek Jeter getting hurt, (fractured ankle), and out for the season is the most devasting loss of all.

Bases loaded three times, (a record), and they couldn't push a run across. That is where they lost the game.

Hopefully, they will put it together for Jeter and win this series. They need to start hitting. Vrey discouraging to see A-Fraud and Granderson striking out so much. Nick Swisher is the invisible man in the playoffs.

Win the series for Jete's. Go Yankees!!!!!

You are more than welcome on this board! We even let those crazy Red Sox folks on here. It's the great rivalries that make for the great moments.

Certainly not the same Valverde from last year.

Excellent post. Ironic that dispite Swisher's attention seeking antics all year, including his under eye black makeup designs which resulted in even the YES Network announcers calling him Batman, he becomes invisible on the field when the pressure is on. Maybe he needed more eye black in the 12th when he couldn't see Young's fly ball which won the game for the Tigers.

I hope Cashman's comment has a positive impact on these guys; "The best way to show respect for Derek Jeter is to go out and wind for him".

Although I know we all are saying IT to ourselves, let's say it out loud:

JEETS - YOU WILL BE TERRIBLY MISSED.

GET BETTER AND SEE YOU AT SPRING TRAINING.

Jeter getting hurt is a devasting blow for sure.

A-Rod needs to step up if he wants the kind of adulation that Jeter gets and show us he is one of the greatest hiiters of all time. If not, they should consider him to be on the downside of his career. We don't need singles when they don't count. I am tired of seeing him strike out or worse yet, swing at pitches that miss the strike zone in a mile. Same with Granderson and Swisher. They can't hit a curveball worth a darn. I guess you tell I am frustrated with thir performance. Same for Cano. Whew..... I'm glad I got that out.

They are 10 for 93 in the playoff. A putrid performance.

They need to get their act together fast, as this is a good Tigers team. They need to win today as Verlander goes in game 3 and I'm sure he will dominated them.

The pitching has done it's part so far. so the hitters need to show-up for a chance to win.

A side note, "what genuis scheduled the Giants and Yankee game to be aired at the same time"?

Sorry. I digress.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Last nights game was a nail-biter. Valverde is so unpredictable. To all my future Yankee fans in TV...I'm very sorry to see what happened to Jeter. Of course I want Detroit to win but not at the expense of a very good player.

Couldn't agree with you more. With the exception of 2009 A-Rod just DOESN'T COME THROUGH in the clutch! Compare him to Jeter? NEVER!
Not just in his post season chokes but his whole attitude. As far as the other guys - who knows. Cano was red hot at the end of the season!
Somehow, someway, they HAVE TO win tonight !

Well we're up 2-0 in the series with verlander and schurzer going in the next 2 games. Yankees could strike out 25 - 30 times in the next 2. This could be a sweep.
