Yogi Berra is my favorite Yankee of all time. They make fun of his sayings as he is often quoted, but a smart man.
Agreed on all counts.

Aw, nobody goes to Yankee Stadium any more. It's too crowded.

My personal favorite is:

I have the book and I read it from time to time to get a good laugh.

I am a big fan of his so I rely on my memory a lot.

BTW - Knicks vs Mavs, Sunday at 1 PM on ABC for those who can't see the Knicks in TV on MSG or internet.

Carmelo comes back for Thursday nights game.

A humble man who is a muti-millionaire. His quotes or quotes attributed to him will live forever. Some comedians used to make up jokes that he never said.

A man who would drive the old beat of chevy when there were so many expensive cars in the driveway.

I don't remember anybody attributing a bad thought about him nor did he say anything bad about anyone.

I've been thinking for a while to go down to his museum and hopefully meet him.

Here is a true story:

Many years ago, my son called me and asked if I wanted to go Yogi Berra day at Yankee Stadium. I informed him I needed to go to my nephews twins christening as I had to pick-up the cake. I asked why his brother couldn't pick-up the cake and he said it wouldn't arrive in one piece.

David Cone pitches a perect game that day and my nephew jokes with me that I will never forgive his twins.

I had taken my mom to the cemetery on a Saturday for a visit to my dad's grave. We ran into the funeral director who grew up near my wife, and had arranged my father's funeral. He offered me two tickets to the Yankee game against Minnesota. I declined because we had a family obligation the next day.

David Wells pitched his perfect game.

You and I are spooked.

End of story !

Default See In Person

I was lucky enough to see Dave Righetti's no-hiiter on July 4th.

I saw Tom Seaver win his 300th game as a member of the Chicago White-Sox. The only time I rooted against the Yankees.

I saw Chad Curtis hit a home run against San Diego in the World series.

Next goal is to see the Giants win a Super Bowl.

I always do but it's for my son.

Maybe I'll get real lucky and get to go to a Super Bowl if one is held in Miami or Tampa.

My son lives only a half hour away from the stadium in Miami.

LinSanity is still perfect as the Knicks have won seven in a row. Blew away the Kings last night.

They are now at 500 at 15 -15. Friday against the Hornets with Melo back.
We will have to see if they mesh.

I am getting hopeful they will make some noise in the playoffs.

Two weeks ago, the Yogi Berra saying would have applied, "who woulda thunk it".

That should be a great game. Does anyone know which area sports bars will carry it?

Beef O'Brady's might have it on one of their myriad screens, but it's almost impossible to follow a game there.

I would check with Margarita Republic in Spanish Springs. They have a huge projection TV in the main room, and very large flat screen in the rear room. If they're carrying the game there, that would be a good bet.
