What else is new. Nothing different on any other course. Have asked why it takes so long for these greens to heal. Never get an answer. Just another sign of incompetence on the golf courses. Wait, just got an idea. Why don't they build a few golf courses in a swamp and forget about the drainage issue?

Green are still in very bad shape.. It has been over two weeks since they were punched, if done correctly they should have healed by now. If the people who work the courses, worked for a private course in FL, they would have been fired after two weeks. I don't understand, aerating greens is not rocket science. Do they just not know or don't care to do them correctly?

As I’ve always said, the better a persons game, the less they complain about course conditions.

If you only pay $2,000 a year you must be playing the executive courses 5 times a week and playing the Championship courses 1 day a week. If you like par 3 courses that is fine but if you want to play regulation courses, playing here is expensive. I think most people who live here can afford to play the regulation courses and that is why very few complain about the price.

The Villages posts the aeration schedule ahead of time on the golf website, so that you can eliminate those courses with recent "plugs" from your tee time requests. If you pay attention to that schedule, you should be able to avoid the bumpy greens.

A couple of points
1. This is not a matter of public vs. private. Aeration is aeration. Either it is done correctly or it isn't. I have also asked why the greens take so long to heal. I also never get an answer 2. $2,000 a year You are dreaming. Priority alone is $800. Average $30.00 a round three days a week, you figure it out. 3. Yes there is an aeration schedule. Many times it is not followed. Many times our firsr, second, and third choices are not given to us and guess what course we do get. 4. Great point made. With the money these courses generate perhaps two true greenskeepers could be hired. Wait that makes too much sense. |
