Thumbs up Glenview Championship Course

We played Glenview Championship course yesterday (10/19/22). Course is in excellent condition. Fairways are nice and greens were very good and true.

My opinion is that it is the best in TV. Looks like they have the highest dollar budget in TV and/or best superintendent in TV.

Played Hacienda Palms on 10/17 and two par 4 fairways were 1/2 under water and/or soggy. This was after hurricane caused 5 inches of rain over a 3 day period and it has been dry since then. No wonder grass can not grow in some places and torpedo grass can and/or will take over.

On one of the two holes, mounds near green were almost completely barren of grass and this was after the course had been closed and/or had lessened play.

you would think that the other courses would take note of glenview and do the same maintenance.. IMO lopez is just a little behind glenview but still in nice shape.. we played palmer last week and it was crappy.. I certainly hope when they finish renovating riley grove that it's in MUCH better shape than the other 18 holes are

maybe Palmer could use the 3.75 charge on credit card transactions to improve the course

I played there yesterday morning as well...

Showed up as a single and as it turned out, they hooked me up with a regular Wednesday group from my street! Great opportunity for me to meet some neighbors!

Other than them forgetting to turn on the heat (it was freezing for the front nine), The course was in wonderful shape. The staff was great and the food afterwards was very nice. No complaints at all from our group of 10...

IMO, Glenwood is the best championship course in TV…..as close to being a “private” country club as you can get . Lopez being right behind….

The restaurant has nothing to do with the golf course.

I agree Glenview is the #1 course on campus, but I don't understand the love for Lopez. It's an awful layout, much like Southern Oaks and the last time I played there, the conditions certainly didn't approach Glenview, Palmer or even Mallory Hills.

Based on your post earlier this month, I booked a tee time at Glenview for some buddies and I.
We played it yesterday for our first time and it was just fabulous! We played Tally Ho to Stirrup Cup and it was the best day of golf for me in a long time.
We’re all non- Villagers (Harbor Hills residents) and it was worth the money. Played with nobody in front of us for 16 holes, which also contributed to our enjoyment.
We’ll be back!

I have always felt Palmer was needy of better care. For 1 of the 3 premier courses it does not deserve that category in my opinion. Arnold Palmer would be disappointed in its condition if he were still here.

Wasn’t one of the 9 just completely renovated? I thought the plan was to do the other 18 also.
