Default Havana

"Just" redone, $5 extra.....................Pass.

A little rough.

It's $3-$4 more. Same as every "premium" course in The Villages and it's been that way since it re-opened last year and it was one of the busiest courses in TV after the renovation.

It's in significantly better condition than Mallory or Cane Garden. The redo of Hibiscus was embarrassingly bad in my opinion. They removed the vast majority of decorative areas and neglected to improve (simply clean & paint?) things like Hole Signs, etc.

Hibiscus was very disappointing. Although the greens were perfect, the fairways and tee boxes were very thin. The golf balls would hit the fairway and puffs of sand and powder dust would rise in the air. Sad, but again, the greens were so nice.

I can’t figure out how Havana can be justified as a premium course? There are several courses not far away that I prefer to play that aren’t classified as premiums. Why would I pay extra to play a lesser track? Palmer I can understand, but not any of the courses south of 44. I get it that the southern courses can get away with being classified as premium strictly based on supply and demand, but the course layouts most certainly don’t justify it. If they are trying to discourage northern Villager’s from playing the courses south of 44 because of the limited supply, their strategy works with me.

I’m disappointed to hear about the Hibiscus renovation results, it’s one of my favorite 9’s in the bubble. At least they seem to have gotten the greens right, the rest will eventually grow in. The greens are the most important part in my opinion. Golf on : )

A $3-$4 premium to play a course that's just had a multi-million dollar renovation, doesn't sound that onerous.

Yeah you posted the same thing right after Havana reopened. Why do you go back and torture yourself and then this forum with repeated comments? Havana reopened 9 months ago. Move on.

Agree, just hit the ball! Or putt the ball! Slow play much of the time in TV on both executives and Championship courses. The PGA tour is losing spectators because of slow play IMHO.

Just curious ... how does that relate to the cost to play or the quality of Havana Country Club?

NEWS FLASH: Conditions change on golf courses.

If you were a good student of my posts, you would have see in May 2024:
Put it back on your rotation.

Course was in good condition.
