To all of you going ga-ga over CCC, I’m sure you could find housing to move there so you can play it all you want.

Quit damning The Villages courses; if your game is as good as you think it is, the conditions shouldn’t matter.

One of these days I'll load my clubs, shoes & glove into my truck and take a road-trip to try the course.

Difficult to do with all the CC's jus a golf cart ride away.
(the reason I moved to TV)

Default Roughs

As we get older, and the Villages and other courses surrounding us cater to us, there is no reason for the rough to be as long and challenging as they are making it. The Villages is not caring so much for those of us here all year long but to raise prices when the Snowbirds come back down. The Villages got the PGA person to back the stupid story of El Nino when all the other surrounding courses that remained in good condition just laughed at that explanation.

Breathe, Breathe.

The long roughs are a result of all the rain.
They can not cut it all back at once and leave the dead grass on top.
It will take them time to return to no roughs of the past.

Not sure they have a reason for this; however, pace of play is greatly impacted by ball searches. I'm convinced blowing off the 3 minute search rule is common as well.

It seems like they leave the rough a little longer every summer. Irregardless of rain. Maybe there's a horticultural reason.

I'll play. Tuesday and Thursday mornings are good for me. Anyone else? Maybe we can get a TOTV foursome.

I hit in the rough once. About two feet in. The rest of my foursome were not so successful.
